I would love it if Canucks could pry away Marcus Foligno from you guys, but hes a sabre heart and soul and that's something that should never be let go. - SRam19
Meh. I think there's plenty of options they could go to for goalie without having to give up Foligno for Lack. - HonkFortheGoose
Myers syndrome. Great rookie year set sky high/unrealistic expectations for a guy picked in the 3rd round. I like lack but i'd rather get him using picks vs giving up a guy who could be a useful roster player for us moving forward.

He was a 4th rounder. But I get what you're saying. Like I said a little while ago, I like him for our bottom 6.
Foligno isn't a victim of the circumstance, ffs he isn't a victim of anything. Hogson is a victim of the circumstance. The unrealistic expectations for Marcus are solely based off of his 13 points in 14 games or whatever that late year call up. Jesus, I don't hear anyone making excuses for Gragnani. Foligno's charm is blatantly based off his father i.e. his name.
I've never seen him play with any kind of heart since he's been here.

You make it sound as if Foligno doesn't suck.
NICK Foligno in the Blue and Gold and you never even think about trading him.
But Marcus for Lack is a steal. D-Lo makes #82 expendable - DynamicThreads
He doesn't suck. He was a 4th rounder. Not sure what you're expecting from him, but I like having him in my bottom 6. On a deep team, he's a 4th liner that can fill in on the 3rd line for injuries and such. He's good on the PK, has gotten back to playing the physical game that got him to the NHL in the first place. I like the idea of him and Deslauriers on a line together when all is said and done to be honest, so being that there are plenty of options available in goal, it would be silly to make that trade IMO.

Then you need to open your eyes. I think you're biased against him because of his name. It works two ways. Your expectations are way too high.
Besides, Nick Foligno is 4 years older and took quite a few years to get to where he is now. You're ready to throw Marcus away like he's a piece of garbage and he's not.

I think he has no place on this team and for all the crap CoHo gets, Foligno deserves just as much. I don't expect 25 goals out of Foligno, but he isn't good, plain and simple. I'd take half a dozen other players in our bottom 6 over him. Foligno got back to his physical game in what, the last quarter of the season? By that measuring stick, Grigorenko truly is Freakorenko, because he looked damn good during his last call up. It still doesn't mean crap.

Our bottom 6 is the perfect place for Foligno. But there's no room in the top 6 for CoHo which is the problem. Foligno played physical for most of the year. That's how he ended up having to miss time. He broke his hand fighting a guy that leveled our Captain, but you're right. He's never played with any heart at any point in a Sabres sweater.
Not only that, if you paid attention, you would know I've said for weeks now that Hodgson wasn't used properly and that he's better than he was last year, so I'm not sure why you keep throwing his name at me like I have no clue what's going on.

No, they aren't. I never said what my expectations for him even were. I think with all this talk about trading picks and young guys we've been drafting, and with everyone so eager to throw in Larsson, Grigorenko, Hogson, Foligno has more value than any of them and has less of a place left on this team with a player like Deslauriers, who btw is also a LW so having them on the same line down the road doesn't really work, either.

Let's put it this way, if you think Foligno is so useless, why would a team trade a starting goaltender for him? If he doesn't even have a place in the bottom 6 of the worst team on ice why would he be useful somewhere else?

1 fight a career does not define. He broke his hand punching a guys helmet repeatedly. He isn't a very smart hockey player.
And I'm not "throwing Hogson's name" at you directly, but directing it at the common opinion of him on the message board.

Guy said he'd like him in Vancouver, I said he could have him for Lack. Pretty harmless reply.

You were the one who said he never showed any heart at all. If that's your opinion it's fine, you can continue to be completely delusional. I'm not going to waste my time telling you examples.
I'd like to see you go out and throw checks with a separated shoulder and see how it feels. That's basically what you seem to think he should have done the previous season. He played most of the year with it and then finally was able to have surgery to repair it last offseason. The beginning of this year was him getting comfortable with the way the shoulder rehabbed. Once he did, he was causing all sorts of raucous out there until he missed time with the broken hand.

Why do some think we have to give up a lot for a goalie? we don't and we don't need a 5 mill a yr goalie either. I think 4 mill a year is a lot to pay a goalie, that should be the least of our worry.
