Since the Foote/Blake era, Tyson Barrie is the only defenseman they have depeloped into anything more than a borderline NHL'er, good with forwards tho

I liked getting rid of the NTC, but I was surprised it was Garrison. He's a decent all around D Man who was probably worth more then a 2nd round pick.

It's pretty easy to look good playing on Tampa though....

Benning didn't know the team that well and he needed the cap space. I don't really blame him, moves needed to be made. After watching every minute of the Tortorella season, I wouldn't have been too upset to see anyone go.

I'd be really surprised if he's still here next season, all Benning has to do is ask. Bieksa is a smart guy and he's been here long enough to know what it's like when you are the official Canuck fan whipping boy.
