Let me put this in perspective for you. Raphael Diaz traded to the rangers, made the stanley cup finals.
Willie Mitchell signs with the LA kings. Wins 2 stanley cups.
Jason Garrison traded from Vancouver to Tampa bay, they are now in the stanley cup finals.

DO YOU NEED A BIGGER REASON TO TAKE A VANCOUVER DEFENCEMEN ON?!?!?!?! hahaha

- manvanfan

Ha, never realized that. It's like hockey's version of the secret sauce at mcdonalds. final ingredient, just add a nucks defensemen.

We aren't really looking for more bad defence. or old ones. If you wanted to give us Redmond and a 2nd.

Guenin is nearly a million cap hit (if at all if I remember), you can bury him pretty easy and he was signed as a ahl vet to begin with

I'm not sure, I don't know much about the Avs D. Your D must suck if I have to goggle who is playing for you.

Since the Foote/Blake era, Tyson Barrie is the only defenseman they have depeloped into anything more than a borderline NHL'er, good with forwards tho

EJ we all know
Barrie was developed
Stuart was a vet pickup who can play bottom pair, that's it
Holden was a one year flash in the pan who was signed as a ahl guy looking to make the jump
Guenin had a lucky training camp and became a Roy favourite, but originally was supposed to be a vet ahl depth
Redmond is Holden 2.0 but hasn't flopped yet

Stefan Elliot was promising but likely has busted and is going to let walk
Siemens/bigras are the two left with promise, the rest are maybes

Great crowd in Utica.

Has to be nice for the younger guys to have that kind of support.

Tampa has really controlled this second period. Have to say all the Canucks fans who were whinging about Garrison are being proven wrong and foolish.

Only thing I hated about him was he couldn't hit the net for the life of him.

But Desjardins is in love with his former players and that's what started the process of trading him.

I liked getting rid of the NTC, but I was surprised it was Garrison. He's a decent all around D Man who was probably worth more then a 2nd round pick.

It's pretty easy to look good playing on Tampa though....

That was another strange move - since he didn't exactly have a bad season the year before and he was a fairly decent signing.

If he can convince Bieksa to waive he will be my Hero.

That guy needs a change in scenery.

Benning didn't know the team that well and he needed the cap space. I don't really blame him, moves needed to be made. After watching every minute of the Tortorella season, I wouldn't have been too upset to see anyone go.

I'd be really surprised if he's still here next season, all Benning has to do is ask. Bieksa is a smart guy and he's been here long enough to know what it's like when you are the official Canuck fan whipping boy.

The hawks have the best 4th line in the NHL.

And it isn't even close, they are in the offensive zone every shift.

I thought that Gillis was an idiot for plunking our farm team down in Utica but it actually seems like a great little hockey market. I hope they stay there.

Indeed. It is also good publicity in the East for our future stars. It should help to get more Canuck fans in the East
