Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Do or Die Time for Utica Comets, Trade Fits for Bieksa The Utica Comets will fight for their playoff lives as they take to the ice for Game 5 of the Calder Cup Finals tonight, and more musing on where Kevin Bieksa could land if he is traded.

Numero uno.

Thanks Carol and appreciate the heads up for the NBC broadcast. Nice to have the game in full HD resolution at home for a change instead of the garbage coverage that CBC provides.

Bieksa and Hansen would look good as an Oiler for the 33 Rd pick and Yakimov ( not Yakipov)

How about
Lack and bieska to Buffalo for
21 and grigorenko. If not the 21 then the 31 and their other second round pick.

Bieksa & Lack make the most sense to trade. Vantel suggests a 2nd which I think would be an awesome return, ditto for Lack. Bennings draft wish is granted without selling the farm, clears precious cap space and opens up a spot on the blueline. Perfect case would be Lack for #31 (BUFF) and Bieksa for #33 (EDM).

Hard to say. Not too sure what Buffalo thinks about grig anymore. Rfa already. Less then spectacular numbers. 2 seconds and him I think buff would take unless they value him less and the first is more important. I'm tired of getting stiffed on our goalies. Goalies aren't sold for scraps.

Depends how you look at it. I think Bo for Schneider is a good deal. If Markstrom hoists the cup in five years for Van that Luongo deal will look good too. Mind you that is an effin big IF

They're getting rid of Hodgson, with his contract gone they can afford to keep/develop Grig. I don't see them letting Grig go unless they're getting a 1st + a B ranked prospect.

Don't just stop at Bieksa. Burr Higgy and Hamhuis also need to be moved this year.

Grig isn't going to play Center for them ever. Girg is there and he's better.

No joke. It's the only way.

I think if MGT just came out and said this is the route they are going to have to go people would support it.

People see right through the whole " retool " and don't buy it for one second.

Tampa got two 2nds for brett Connelly and you think a 1st and a b prospect.

What about Higgins and Bieksa to St Louis for Ty Rattie and Tommy Vannelli?

I think draft picks are better at this time as we have enough young dmen needing a look at what they can do in nhl while we wait for players like sbisa/edler to sail off into the sunset. Wouldn't want to trade for someone who may need waivers before we get to look at him in the nhl. Plus we need a left hand dman more than right currently. we only have 1 left handed dman thats of use on our team currently.

Grig is younger and better than Connelly, again, he's not going anywhere anyways.

2 years younger whoopy. they both have the same scoring rate in the nhl. Grig ELC is now up so he will have to clear waivers. He's going to slot on the 4th line wing?

kinda steep, especially since i doubt Bieksa will be any good by the time we're ready.

I'm indifferent on Lack for 31.
