Yes, but then we agreed Vrbata for Sutter +
- Retinalz

We? I would say yes to the trade straight up. If he didn't work out. Young 6'3 center that scores 21 goals would still have more trade value than an aged winger. I don't think Vrbata will score 30 next year unless he is playing with Malkin . He won't score that with Bonino

Yes but getting the higher pick not only makes it easier for us to move up, but also ensuring the guy you want. A bad GM keeps higher picks and hopes the guy he wants to take around 15 is still there around 40.
- Retinalz

I'm not sure if 16 and 24 would get you within the top 5 or 6.

After that I could less about any of those prospects.

You have to overpay for first round picks. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but you wouldn't get the 16 th for either one alone

If Oilers trade for Talbot for the 16 th , then all bets are off and I can see lack getting the 21 st

Jeb Bush just announced his candidacy to run for President. If by some remote chance he wins the US can say that they have officially elected all 3 Stooges

I don't see the appeal for Talbot being worth more than lack.

He had a STACKED Defense on the rangers. and his AHL numbers are just OK.

Agree to it, record the convo and send to Betman as proof of a deal done before Pit realizes what happened.

16/23 will not get top 5 - but it can land top 10 and Matthew Barzal

Edler could land a #10 IMO then you have 10 16 and 23

a but we want #9, Barzal will likely be gone by then. Trade Vrbata for 2 2nd's and use one with #10 for #9 to guarantee Barzal?

I'd put Crawford in the top third of the league. He gets A lot of hate because he's not flashy, he's a positional goalie with solid technique. When he's off, he's really off, but I've never seen any goalie not get credit for a good outing. He was great last game.

Exactly. Benning has a goalie issue to sort out, but in no way is this teams issues rooted in goaltending.

To pull more politics for Vantel--

It's the economy* stupid!

He doesn't get near enough credit. I would still rather be in net with Keith and Seabs in front of me than Bieksa and Edler.
