Brent Sutter on Gaunce 2013.

“He’s a very defensive-oriented guy as far as understanding the game. He knows his limits offensively, but he’s a big power forward who’s a decent skater and he’s got some good skills. But I see him more as a third- or fourth-line player in the National Hockey League, more of a power guy.”

That said it makes sense, he's had plenty of time to learn. See you in Penticton!

Gaunce is still too slow for the bigs. Needs another year or two to work on his skating.

We'll see if he worked on it this Summer. There are ton's of power skating programs all over the country. Edit: He works with Gary Roberts, one of the best.

I asked a question in the last blog, could the Comets beat the Canucks. I asked because I am not positive they could have won. I think Comets have some better players than some of the Canucks. I hope Benning thinks so too

Good news that Demko had the Hip Surgery. Finally free up some more movement for him on his flexibility.

Quick and Rask have both had the same surgery.

I don't like Bieksa but that is way too much for the 16th.

You have to overpay for first round picks. Not agreeing or disagreeing, but you wouldn't get the 16 th for either one alone

Bob Mackenzie was talking about this the other day on how after the 14th and 15th pick the value decreases A LOT.

Because their is no consensus on where those players will land, and it doesn't shock GM's any more where players get drafted after the 15th overall pick.

He said every year he has had players ranked around 15-20 who drop to the second round of the draft.

If that's the case let's hope JB know this draft better than Bob Mackenzie!

Yes but getting the higher pick not only makes it easier for us to move up, but also ensuring the guy you want. A bad GM keeps higher picks and hopes the guy he wants to take around 15 is still there around 40.

He was in a poker game that didn't turn out the way he planned. Still did good though.
