That's taking tanking to a whole new level.

Maybe because both teams are beaten and exhausted

I think we get robbed of the best possible final due to this.

Many times it's who can stay healthy-- Easier said than done.

The owners are so greedy they would never consider trimming some games off of the regular season, but how much fresher would these guys be if you trimmed 10 games off the regular season?

Some wise ass will chime in with 10 games fresher....

Yes, but you can't go full tank. It's too obvious. Plus you end up crushing the talent you do have.

Got to be a more balance approach to finish low in the standings while still maintaining good work ethic and sound coaching for the young players.

As for full tank, I'm not one who believes in conspiracies but it didn't take long for the NHL to punish the canucks for the luongo contract. So I bet they would come up with some change all of a sudden to curb tanking and punish those who have.

Benning isn't a pompous asshat calling out the NHL or making them look silly like Gillis did with the CBC and calling out the refs

The draft lottery is in place to curb tanking. Ask the Sabres how they feel about that these days!

There are also financial ramifications that teams must overcome. As well as creating a losing environment in which to develop players.

Not much else can be done, apart from limiting the number of #1 picks a team has during a set time frame. Even that is very difficult to implement.

Vrbata + Sbisa to any team for a 2nd rounder.
Thats a first rounder for Vrabata, and paying a team to take sbisa off of our hands.

Deal
- VANTEL

The deal has to start with third-line center Brandon Sutter. He is entering the second year of a two-year contract that pays him $3.3 million this year. Given how highly regarded Sutter is, he will be looking for a raise at the end of the season.

Is he worth a raise? Absolutely not.

Is he even worth his current contract? Absolutely not.

While Sutter might be a fan favorite, he is also a tremendously overrated player. He’s weak along the boards, ineffective at generating shots and usually lowers the level of play of his wings.

In fact, Sutter was ranked on Jimmy Hascup’s six most overrated players in the NHL today.

I took this paragraph from the hockey writers.

sutter is overrated not even as good as bonino.. if batman is going anywhere probably montreal for the first as they could probably resign him. id like to use that cap money for soderberg on a 2 or 3 year deal that we could once again flip for picks just like i hope we do with vrbata

Big no to Sutter
Prefer picks for Vrbata
Lack for #31
Bieksa for 2nd or 3rd
Higgins for 2nd
Burrow for 2nd

Get rid of 5 players in less than a week.

What the hell it's never going to (frank)ing happen, (frank) you Aquilini.

I would like to keep burrows and bring in more youth, he could do well in helping guide them as nhlers. also trade edler for 10th overall

Bieksa- Av's or CBJ 2nd?
Miller- SJ 2nd hopefully if we retain 3 million
