if Philly offers pick 29 and either McDonald or Vinny to the Sabres for pick 51 and say Larsson (random prospect), do you make that trade? - homiedclown
No. It's a lateral move at best if everything goes right, which is a big if. It's not worth the risk. |

Yes...we need elite prospects.. we have enough average picks coming up. |

Imagine this........
Yotes and Sabres get together to offer Edmonton:
3rd pick in this draft (Oilers need Defense - Hannifan)
Sabres 21st pick this year
Coyotes 1st round pick in 2016
Both Sabres and Coyotes throw in a player (Likely Zadarov for BUF and Coyotes a similar caliper player)
Edmonton loads up and secures D spots they desperately need
Sabres get arguably best player in draft
Coyotes get Eichel (fingers crossed he is not better than McDavid!)
Everyone is a winner?!

Yes without a question, though I'm not sure you'd find a trade partner

They don't have 29 & are unlikely to get it. |

this is why people shouldn't drink alcohol in the morning, I'll take my chances on Eichel being better than McDavid for us for the Sabres thank you very much |

IMO I thing Grigorenko will be fine in time. Yes, we royally screwed up his development, and he did have maturity issues. But, at this point I think both sides have started to mend fences and move forwards. The kid did take a big step last year in the AHL and is on the right path to success in the NHL. He has the skill and the size nobody is denying that. The real problem now is, does he have a spot in Buffalo with all the high quality centers we've accumulated, can he be moved and used as a sniper on the wing?
I think the best thing for both sides would be for him to go back to the AHL for one more year, but that does not look like its going to be an option. KHL might be the best move for a year or two as long as we hold his rights. Bur realistically he'll probably be traded at some point and that might be what's best for him. He can easily still become somebody's #2 center. New Jersey looks like a promising place for that to happen.
Trade wise with his value kind of at a low point I think a realistic trade value would be Grigerenko + #21 + 31 for the #6 pick. It would be a trade that may work well for both sides, we get the quality over quantity that we're looking for and New Jersey gets a high potential center who may not have much more development on his plate, plus they get to still pick in the first round and get the first pick in round two. The trade could fast track the rebuild for New Jersey if they nail the picks. |

So Sharp.... Grigs and a 2nd round pick is the offer from Buffalo?
Murray must be deviating from the plan... |

I don't think Chicago would do that as they would be unlikely to give him the time to play in the NHL and they would ultimately lose him when they send him to the minors. I would think it would have to be a team like Arizona, New Jersey, Toronto, who are looking to likely be as bad as possible and need to "develop" players.
EDIT:
If that is the offer, I would gladly agree to it from Buffalo's perspective. |

The hookers told him. Or maybe it was the blow telling his brain that the hookers told him. |

Per NHL source, CHI currently asking for 1st rd pick, A-level prospect & top 6 forward on entry-level contract for Patrick Sharp
Pretty steep if you ask me..
That would be something like 21st pick Bailey or Baptiste top 6 on entry level??
We don't even really have that. Not top 6 in the eyes of a team like Chicago. Not including Reinhart obviously.

So talking to my cousin another good knowledgeable hockey guy we were talking about a what if. What would be the only way you would trade Girgensons.
We both came up with the same thing. In a package for Tarasenko.
That got us talking more. Would Girgensons 21st and next years first be enough?
Then we started talking about lineups.
Moulson Eichel Tarasenko
Kane Reinhart Ennis
Foligno Larrsson Gionta
Deslauriers McCormick Kaleta
Losing Girgensons would hurt a ton. But just for a discussion piece what would you guys say? |

I'd trade Girgensons for a few pieces but that trade wouldn't be enough to get Tarasenko.. Would likely cost
21st Girgensons and a guy like Baptiste or another one of our top three prospects. |

Not close imo. It's not an issue of value, blues are trying to win now so the picks don't really help them. Only way I could see them moving tarasenko is in a 1 for 1 to address a position of need. |
