That's actually a pretty good deal for the Sabres even though it was a fake one. Get rid of Grigerenko's problems Pysyk while good isn't nearly worth O'Riley's value and the 21st pick comes with the territory. I bet if that were the offer Colorado would reject it. |

I have no interest in giving up pysyk for poopbird. He's not needed here in the slightest unless they say you're playing rw full time. Even then, we still haven't addressed top rw position. So (frank) that guy to hell |

blessing in disguise. His peformance today may be the final push rogers needs to get k-rod or papelbon.
Seriously a half decent closer and the jays probably have an extra 5 wins. they've lost so many games in the 9th inning and we're not even half way through the season. |

O'Riley is a better 1st line RW then more than half of the leagues 1st line RW's...
You have to give to get. I personally think we gave up too much in the Kane deal yet giving up a defenseman with a lower ceiling than Myers in Pysyk for a young two way versatile top six player isn't good enough for you?..
Kane Eichel O'Riley
Moulson Reinhart Ennis
That looks like a stanley cup contending top 6 to me |

If you had to win 1 game, do or die
would you rather have Pommer or ROR on your #1 line?
not a dig, just asking |

That's a difficult and bias answer for a Buffalo fan because he won many clutch games here and you'd naturally have favor to him as a fan of the Sabres.
If you asked me who I'd pick if I was drafting a team right now I'd pick O'Riley. He's younger and more versatile.

see that is where I disagree
Pommer IMO is as versatile as any player up front IMO
great pk
decent pp
shoot outs
responsible in his own end
doesn't take the bone head penalty
Pommer should have been a sabre for life |

First of all, no he's not. I understand the give get thing. I don't want to give anything for him because I don't want him unless it's a severe under Payment

I agree we should have kept him. But plausibly he just didn't fit into the losing culture they tried to build last two years and had to go. That being said..
I didn't say Pominville wasn't versatile but in terms of position O'Riley has that and he's also good in his own end. I don't have an official depth chart of every teams 1st line RW but I bet if you listed them all O'Riley would be top half of the list. |

Of those two I'd pick ROR only because of his versatility. But pommer has a higher point ceiling. |

I just took a glance at projected depth charts and right now I have him in the 12-15 range in terms of top RW in league. That's pretty good if you ask me. |

Here's another reason why I'm iffy on Dan Bylsma
He chose Ryan Callahan and Dustin Brown for the US Olympic team, and Jason Pominville doesn't even get consideration. |

Dan Bylsma did not ultimately choose the team. It was committee, Ultimate decision lied with Poile |
