Man that's awfully pricey for a goalie that's gonna be a UFA after this season with a small sample size. I wouldn't Gil. - mhp
Yeah, and the NYR fans from that site where that was discussed think that offer wouldn't be enough.
I think Talbot is the top goalie on the market now who is reasonably affordable but he is going to come at an overpay. Maybe let the Oilers do that. |

I saw something about Talbot gets traded first to Edmonton and then Lack to Buffalo. Not sure where I saw that though. I forget. I'm old.

Pass on Skinner and his noggin.
Okposo, yes.
Sharp, no dicey.
Lack for 31.
Trade 21+ to move up, draft Konecny.
Cunneyworth as HC for Rochester.
keep Irbe.
Did I forget anything? - mhp

I am 70/30 on him to the good.
I would go into this season with every intention of him winning the RW job on either the 2nd line or 3rd line, preferably the 2nd line.
If I didn't have the confidence he could take that position, I would trade him. |

Talbot is already 28 and has never shown much in his career until the last year and a half. He will be 30-31 when we turn the corner. Goalies can usually play in their 30s but can also show regression. I am wary of jones or any LA goalie. Seems to be a system there that makes the goalies look better than they really are. I doubt we get vasilevsky, Gibson or subban. I can see those teams unloading bishop, or rask first because of their big contracts. Anderson is young but I think Anaheim wants Gibson to be the guy - Fattony1187
Agreed on most of the things. Ya I don't think we get either of those goalies either. But those are the goalies Murray has to target. Having goalies that can grow with the team are important. Have Gibson/Vasilevsky/Subban and Lindback split goaltending duties next year. I'm hoping Chad Johnson is put on waivers and sent to Rochester. |

He asked other the players he mentioned is there anything he's missing...
My answer was "goalie and defenseman" |

Jim Matheson @NHLbyMatty
If Edm in on Cam Talbot, can't see them offering more than 33rd overall pick and, say, D-man Martin Marincin.#oilers.

Should the Sabres offer 31 and similar - level prospect? - GilPerreault11
No thanks. If they want Weber and a 3rd in next year's draft than sure. Talbot isn't worth much more than that. |

Im just not sure people truly appreciate the value of that pick (including myself for a while).
Last time we picked 31 it was the final piece to massive trade. A few months ago would anyone have traded Lemieux for Lack? 31 could've been barbashev as well, doubt anyone would move him for lack either.
I like Konecky the same as you, I think he could go as high as 13 or 14. 21+51 probably doesn't cut, but 31 could.
I think it's the main reason why Murray hasn't pulled the trigger on that deal yet. The ask was a 2nd round pick and we literally have the best 2nd round pick in the league. - Sabresfan-365
Exactly. This years draft is much more deep than last years as well.
If we are trading 21 and 31 I want to include some other pieces in that trade from our side and get the 5th overall from the Hurricanes rather than just move to 13 or 14. This way we can pick Provorov or Hanifin and then possibly include Zads in another big trade.
Personally I'd rather just draft at 21 than trade up to 13-14 if it indeed costs us 31 also. LA has the 13th so why not just take someone with cap off their hands? Something like our second 2nd, Martin and Carrier for Brown and the 13th. We take Brown's horrible contract on and we get another pick in the first round of this years draft. |

The most realistic way I thought Buffalo could actually attempt to ice a playoff team for next season. Granted, the goaltending is the weakest position on the team, but you have a shade over $3M to spend on a better goaltender or trade for one if needed.

I don't think it is based on how they are not getting an immediate top quality D or F in the deal. |

Skinner anyone? - Cheeseballin
Skinner had 3 more points then Nathan Gerbe last year
asking a high ransom for an often injured player who puts up similar points as a smurf is not realistic IMO |

The first pick in this years 2nd round, another 2nd and 1st round pick, Gorges and Grigorenko is a big time overpayment for a 50 point 2nd line center. |

I look at it as 2 seconds that may or may not make it in the NHL
a fist that I hope is a late first
a 5/6 d man and a player that may bolt for a fixture on the top 6
remember I said they need to sign Beauchemin to upgrade the D
reality is ROR is all smoke |
