Maybe I am in the minority but, as a player I like ROR. He can play RW and C. He works hard can finish is very good defensively. When Samson and Jack hit rough patches he can help out by playing center. He also entered the league as a teenager so he might be able to help these kids too because he already did what they are about to do.

Trading Z hurts if that is what it takes to get him but I would do it. Zadorov, Grigo and 21st pick

You really think Murray is done if he get's ROR
- SABRES 89

Murray is never done. Sign of a solid GM. Broads will rag on me for liking him, but I like the way he does business and I like the direction he appears to be going in.

No we don't know more, but you mentioned 2 NHL people and I mentioned 2 as well. Just like us they have their own opinions.

The one point I would like you to answer is what does it say about Tim Murray that he traded his first 1st round draft pick (2nd overall) as GM the next year?

TM is supposed to be this expert amateur talent evaluator. He should know what he has, and if he is moving him the next year something isn't right.

- Stripes77

A little of topic but since you brought up TM, I was chatting with a buddy of mine who used to work with and deal with TM for a number of years. The one thing he said about him is that he will build a great team as he knows talent, the other thing he said about him is he will be a Richard while doing it.

Let this argument stand as the barometer for the Sabres in 3 hence years when we need to resign...
Eichel
Reinhart
Risto
Kane
Who else knows fvkc else all

Man that is a lot of cap space for 5 players, 22% of your roster

- IonSabres

This is why it would be a bad idea to offer sheet other teams players. GM's aren't going to forget who the jerks are, and in 3-4 years when were trying to make it all work under the cap their will be vultures.

This is exactly why I don't wish to trade Rienhart or Big Z.....both players have "NHL Talent" and "ALL-STAR" potential. If Murray buys out Cody , I would welcome ROR in but I must agree with HOMER that "KNOWN" talent is more valuable than "Unknown"

So if ROR is a Sabre by Friday, I assume he then becomes 1c until Jack and Sam mature into their roles of 1c and 2c respectively.
So does that mean Eichel is 2c and Reinhart is 3c.
If so the lines look like???
Kane-ROR-Ennis
Moulson-Eichel-Girgenson
Hodgson-Reinhart-Gionta
Des-Foligno-Ellis?

Hey, I like him as a player too, I just hate the idea of moving a ton of assets for him

Apparently it isa problem for Colorado who is 3 years ahead of us.
Don't be so sure. All teams have the same cap limit, irrespective of their owners wallet size.

This remains to be seen and is far from a guarantee. I think he's on his way to building a very good one. However he had his hand in a lot of OTT's decisions, and they haven't been exactly great

It's like drafting a RB in the first round. It's not necessary to use a high pick on a goalie, especially when there are much bigger needs (a top 6 RWer, another top 4 D).

Goalies are such a crap shoot. Nobody has any idea how they will develop or Lundqvist wouldn't have been a 7th round pick.

The highest pick I would be okay with moving for a goalie is 31 and I would rather than goalie be a young in the league tender already.

- Stripes77

But I'm not talking about the first round. You don't draft for need anyways. You don't draft a rw now to fill a need because you won't see that player for another 2-3 years anyways Same goes for defense. We don't have a vaselevsky, or Gibson or subban or fucale. That's what I want and you need to draft them in the first couple rounds. I don't think they are as big of a crapshoot when you draft them that high

Different issue there with financially constrained ownership...like Darcy under Tommy G.

It means our future looks like this:
Eichel 1C, Reinhart 2C, O'reilly 3C at 7million and a pain in the butt, and Girgensons (a.k.a Buffalo's original version of Ryan O'reilly) left playing wing where he won't be as effective.

Nothing is ever a guarantee, just sharing a story. I also don't think drafting has been OTT's problem, keeping guys and making smart trades have hurt them a bit and I could be wrong but I think that is more on their GM than on TM when he worked there.

So the Sens want to move Lehner who is lucky can still spell his name and on top of that, they want to move out a crap contract along with Lehner ? good luck with that. I hope Murray stays clear of Lehner.

I believe Eichel will out play ROR , but just my opinion.

KANE - Eichel - Ennis
Moulson - ROR - FA/Trade
Foligno - Reinhart - Gionta
Des- Larson - ????

I don't think he's the perfect compliment to Eichel, that's the whole thing. I'd rather have a guy like ROR who the coach can say go out and make Crosby's life miserable (talking playoffs) while still adding offense then a guy like Reinhart who can't. This is about playoffs and winning big now, I'd rather go to war with guys like ROR than Sam.

Don't get me wrong, I think Reinhart will have a good NHL career, I'm not trying to bash him....just the type of player I'd prefer is ROR.

- Homer

So what you're saying is you would rather have someone, like, idk Girgensons as your line center?

I'm not sold on reinhart, but we need people who can put the bscuit in the basket, O'Reilly isn't the answer.
