I do seriously wish we had Eichel and Bennet as our 1 & 2 C's. I'll take Reinhart, but would have loved Bennetts Fire passion and get'er done attitude. - IonSabres
Gotta say I agree. Loved the intangibles Bennett brought. I just prefer his style of play over reinhart. I don't think we made a mistake taking reinhart but if I was making the pick I would have had a hard time passing on Bennett |

So the Sens want to move Lehner who is lucky can still spell his name and on top of that, they want to move out a crap contract along with Lehner ? good luck with that. I hope Murray stays clear of Lehner. - SABRES 89
right on. |

It means our future looks like this:
Eichel 1C, Reinhart 2C, O'reilly 3C at 7million and a pain in the butt, and Girgensons (a.k.a Buffalo's original version of Ryan O'reilly) left playing wing where he won't be as effective. - sskkoo1
I would say it is Eichel Reinhart Girgensons and O'reilly on the wing. Most of his games the last two years he has played wing |

I believe Eichel will out play ROR , but just my opinion.
KANE - Eichel - Ennis
Moulson - ROR - FA/Trade
Foligno - Reinhart - Gionta
Des- Larson - ???? - MEBSabresFAN
I meant for this season as per Bylsma, he wants to shield Eichel and Reinhart early...let them grow into 1c and 2c respectively. You won't see Eichel in 1c for a good portion of the year. |
|
|
|
I'm not going to get into this again...
NHL scout, with Stanley Cup rings, said to me "Best case scenario for Reinhart is what ROR is now"
I know, I know.....one person's opinion but one with a solid track record.
Just because ROR doesn't get a lot of PIMS doesn't mean he doesn't play with an edge.....IE Girgensons.
And no, I've never heard Sam being compared to Bergeron. - Homer
Ryan has a lot of +'s, possession numbers and 5 on 5 points per 60 minutes are both excellent but physicality isn't one of them. He had 38 hits last year and 22 in 2013 and 2014. with his history I don't see him passing up a chance to ufa after next year either. Only way I trade a player like Sam for him is in July if can negotiate an extension with him. One and done and watch Sam turn into a Seguin would be too much to handle!!

Left wing though. We need to acquire at least one proven RW. I'm sick of shifting these players from their natural postions. |

I like ROR but he's not very physical and his only + IMO is his age and he has skill. I don't hink he will get 35 goals but that's just my opinion. |

If he CAN still spell his name I don't mind Lehner, adding a bad contract like Greening likely makes the price even more reasonable and Greening only has 2 years left where do I sign |

Okay, if he has played wing for the majority of the past couple seasons than is playing in Colorado's top 6 with Landi, McKinn, Duch, and who else? P.A.? So I would suspect that he would be counted on as being a finisher to put the puck in the net for Colorado's kick ass centers. RoR hasn't done that, a couple seasons in the high-teens and I think he had a season where he scored 28.
When we get to the point where Eichel and Reinhart are really cooking I want their wingmen to each score north of 30 every season. Kind of like how pommer and vanenk and staff were when we had Drury and Bri. |

Sounds like that's Kessel, but the Leafs are holding teams hostage. |

horrible deal to be stuck with Greening, some want Hodgson gone and now we are talking about taking on Greening ? not a chance. |

Would you take Vrbata for the 21st or 31st? Your going to have to get to the cap floor somehow. I doubt you want to pay big bucks for a FA that won't be as good. |

The cap won't be a problem for the next two years, if Murray wants Lehner and picking up Greening makes the cost more palatable it seems like a pretty good idea |

Not in my book, Greening is horrible and we don't another boat anchor. |

I think their price will come down at the draft. There is no way he can be on their opening night roster at this point. They put themselves in a bad spot negotiation wise with other teams.
For the record I know you hate the idea of him but I would much rather have Kessel than ROR. From what you've said Murray doesn't agree but that's fine. I just want a winning team. |

Then you can waive him and send him to Rochester. Like the Regehr/ Kotalik deal |

I liked Drury here but he is one of the most overrated players. He was not worth anywhere near what the Rangers paid him. Even if he stayed healthy. |

I wouldn't think he would come here. There safest bet would be brining in a veteran RW, even if it is overpaying for Justin Williams, and then using pick 21 and a prospect for a a prospect more along their development such as Mantha or Rychel.
I really don't want to see them move Pysyk, Ristolainen, Zadorov (my favorite of the group) or McCabe. Too solid of a foundation to start breaking apart. |

Was just reading the Yotes will move the 3rd pick for the right price. |
