Cap is 71.4 million. Even if we just move Bickell to a team like the Coyotes then we are under the cap for next year.

Cap problems aren't as bad as they were forecasted to be and Sharp has generated interested from 8 teams per reports. He won't fetch what the Hawks have asked but he will get a better return that you're surmising.

Does that resign all your RFAs? Honestly asking, not too sure of contract situations in Chicago

If the Sabres don't sign Olli Jokinen by July 4th than everyone who retweets this will get a follow and a shout out I'm convinced it happens

No offense MP, really, but is it a rule that the first handful of posters on his blogs have to get on their knees and, well.....you know?

I can see that too, but I am suspoect of them being there...we shall see. Get rid of Gringo and bring in Guryanov as your one Russian...he will play in KHL for a couple years anyway...so the timing good be perfect.

Still have Zadorov though. Its a real 'thing" btw, not something I'm making up, the two or more Russian no-no thing. Especially young ones. Vets can be a different story.

So the more I think about the situation with Gringo, the more I become perplexed.

Gringo's agents wants a one-way deal...Murray wants a two-way deal. Murray doesn't want to lose an asset for nothing. However, if Grongo signs a two-way deal, then he becomes that much more attractive for the claiming team when he is subjected to waivers...which in my mind makes it more certain he would be claimed...hence losing him for nothing.

So, why would Murray care about a two-way contract? I woudl think by giving him a short-term one way deal that is lucrative, he would make it much less appealing for a team to claim him.

Anybody got an answer for this?

Maybe Terry doesn't want to pay the guy a 'lucrative" amount of money to play in Roch?

You make a good point, thus why they are trying to trade hm. That I know. For what type of compensation...I have no idea.

I said something along the same lines the other day. If he signs a two way deal TM is basically challenging him saying "You think you're good enough then go to training camp and make the team: get paid." I'd think somewhere in the 1-2 year range at $2mil would be enough to allow him to clear waivers if he doesn't make the team out of camp and also not be a burden on our cap.

OV is a vet, I said sometimes that's a different story. Its a locker room issue, not so much a quality of play issue.

Plus they only got to the quarterfinals....nothing "great".

Does putting him on a 2-way deal allow GMTM to pay him the AHL salary which is like 75,000 and he can still start him in Rochester where Murray wants him to be. A one way deal will pay him over a million and he can still start the season in Rochester. I think he will only have to clear waivers if he is called up to the Sabres and then we send him back down.
I think Murray wants him in Rochester at $75,000 so the kid has an incentive to make it up to the big club to get paid. I could be wrong on my thinking though.

Talking about Reinhart for ROR straight up on WGR.

Exactly what I was gonna ask on this board in my next post.

Thoughts???

For the record, I'd do it.

I believe he has to go through waivers before being sent to Rochester.

I don't see Grigorenko here by the time camp opens.

I am guessing they want him to be motivated to play hard. Give him a 1 way deal and he is getting paid either way. Make him earn that spot and extra cash.

They make a good point about scoring in the NHL, but Reinhart on his own (let alone with a pick) probably gets you a better player than O'Reilly.

Why were you going to ask this per say???

That still leaves a hole in the top 6, so I would pass.

I am not trading Reinhart for ROR. If it was Reinhart plus for Tarasenko I would listen.

Okay, I wasn't sure. I figured teams had a chance at the start of the season to tell the league here is our AHL roster and here is our NHL roster. I figured in that window Murray would slip Grigerenko into Rochester without having to clear waivers.

Why does it have anything to do with top 6. You now have 2 excellent centers that are 24 and under. No idea what Reinhart turns into.

I'm not feeling it.

I really feel like Reinhart has a much higher offensive fire power upside than what ROR can do with his two way game.

I honestly think that we already have an ROR type player in Girgensons and we need more star power offensive players like Reinhart.
