I don't think so. I think the NHL likes the drama of the draft and "persuades" agreed upon trades to be kept in house and announced during the draft. For all we know, the Sabres may have an agreement in place already to send 31 to VAN for lack and 21 + something for Okposo??

god I hope not

2 rentals, that is a sure fire way to push the rebuild back 2 years

I should ask this....

Outside of McDavid and Eichel... how many other guys (names if you want) do you think could play in the NHL this coming season in this years draft?

- JVince11

Hanifin(I still thunk he needs 1 more year but that's me ), Provorov ,Rantanen, zack Werenski

Lawson Crouse( body physically ready his offensive game is not some team will rush him and boom a bust )

Strome.,Marner there is nothing left to prove too good for the OHL. body's might be like Ryan nugent-hopkins

Sorry to open up old wounds.

He hasn't exactly been impressive since that draft though. He went 16 G and 31 Pts in 74 games in the AHL last year.

Guys like Grigo and Armia about dbl that point output.

I'd see how high 21, 31 and 51 gets me

if it gets me to 10, I would be very tempted to trade them

- homiedclown

9-10 seems about right foir those 3. Doing that eliminates the chance of trading for Lack and drafting the goalie of the future (Samsonov or Blackwood). I wouldn't do that trade with the depth of this draft UNLESS it was to get Provorov, and I think he goes early anyway

what's the verdict?
- homiedclown

"If I accepted trades like that, I wouldn't be a GM in this league much longer"

Drouin is basically one of the highest potential and rated prospects in the game.

Shinkaruk played 74 games in the AHL for Utica last season. Utica went to the Finals I believe as well. Played 23 playoff games with 6 pts.

Obviously better for #10 but with the depth this year, 21 and 31 would be a good chance too. Look at all the all stars drafted in the late 1st round over the years. I love Provorov (Marner too actually) and would do all I could do to get him, but, I think it would cost too much.

He played fairly well. He was very hard to get off the puck. Good sense of balance and scoring. He played an Ennis-like game

Not saying I would bend over backward to have him here but I don't get why so many people are completely opposed to Patrick Sharp. When he stays healthy enough to play 70+ games he is always a 60-80 point kind of guy. He is 33 years old so maybe he won't be able to play that many games any more but still.

He has better stats than Hossa for the most part of his career besides one or two. Hossa does seem to have slightly better playoff stats but mostly due to more assists whereas Sharp is more goals.

I don't get it. I'd buyout or deal Hossa at age 36. Maybe just trade Sharp because he is younger and has more value with a better deal?

Ohhhh yea he is still in the Q and posting better stats each year.

We took what Compher or Hurley instead of him wasn't it?
