Disagree....I just asked two NHL pro scouts and they both said they would take ROR. Doesn't mean they are right but they do this for a living.
I hope Reinhart becomes great, but my money is on ROR having the better career. |

3 years of ELC Reinhart can be far more valuable than O'Reilly at 7 mil. |

Why does it have anything to do with top 6. You now have 2 excellent centers that are 24 and under. No idea what Reinhart turns into. - Homer
You also have no idea how long you get to keep ROR. He just strikes me as too much of a guy who looks good when he has X and Y and teammates and not a good enough playmaker to make those X and Y teammates better around him.
I feel like Reinhart can do that for other people. |

Correct you have no idea what Reinhart turns into. You also have no idea if ROR bolts after 1 season. Reinhart (potentially) has been labeled to be a better ROR. Girgensons IMO plays the same 200 foot game as ROR and is starting to find his scoring touch. The top 6 is what's important in my eyes. Right now after both centers get comfortable the lineuplooks something like this:
Kane Eichel Ennis
Moulson Reinhart ??
Foligno Girgensons Gionta
Deslauriers Larsson McCormick
The only way in my eyes anyway I want to move the 2nd overall pick from last season is to get a true scoring RWer (who is young as well). So for example a guy like Tarasenko (its not gonna happen)
The lineup would look like this:
Kane Eichel Tarasenko
Moulson Girgensons Ennis
Foligno Larsson Gionta
Deslauriers McCormick ??
Having a line up of
Kane Eichel Ennis
Moulson ROR ??
Foligno Girgensons Gionta
Deslauriers Larsson McCormick
That still leaves a lot to be desired in the top 6. I would rather let Reinhart develop than trade for ROR using Reinhart. It's about building a team here not trading a position of strength (center potentially) for another center.
Edit: Due to my long post the part about ROR's contract was already mentioned |

I honestly feel like Girgensons will be every bit of a player that ROR is for Colorado this year or next. Look at the leaps and bounds he has gained in short time with said team. |

Touche. We are on in the same view point of this.
If we can't sign a top 6 RW, I think that we are almost forced to move Gionta up to 2nd line and put Girgorenko at 3rd line next to Girgensons and Foligno. |

Also in theory how much better is the lineup with ROR centering the 2nd line over the lineup with Reinhart? Without having a top 6 RWer I don't think it really matters at this point. That's why I would rather see a trade involving 21 plus to get a true top 6 RWer. |

Reinhart and ROR don't have the same game so they really shouldn't be compared in that sense. Reinhart has higher potential upside, ROR a much more complete game.
I see what you're saying with the center for a center idea, but it speeds up the us being good process. I'd rather have a guy like ROR (Kesler type) than a one trick pony.

From everything I have read and watched on Reinhart he is everything but a one trick pony. A Toews/Bergeron-lite. His playmaking is superb, he is very responsible defensively, and makes others around him better. He isn't going to snipe but I don't see a 25 goal season out of the possibility (not right away obviously).
He has been talked about a guy who should have double the amount of assists than goals. That is something our PP needs, a true set up man. |

And might be gone after a year... So the sign and trade thing would have to be done before even thinking about that trade (Sam/RORROROROR) |

Its hard to be a good defensive player in the NHL if you can't skate well. Look, I hope Sam turns out great, I just don't think he's a can't miss guy. |

Talking about Reinhart for ROR straight up on WGR.
Exactly what I was gonna ask on this board in my next post.
Thoughts???
For the record, I'd do it. - Homer

We do now, but won't in the future. Eichel, Risto, Girgensons, ROR/Reinhart, Kane, Ennis...If I am paying big money for a second girgensons I would rather just pay it to one and not both.
I like ROR. He is a good 2 way player, but there is something about how he has handled his career that bothers me.
Most of Reinhart's knack was on his lack of explosiveness skating wise. TM has said he has put on weight and has been working on his skating. I would like to see it before I can say he doesn't have the ability to be a good two way center in this league. |

Nothing as long as you have plenty of guys who can hurt the puck.
We don't have enough offenaive talent to sacrifice a potential 30 goal scorer for a 2 way max 45-50 pt guy. We need the star power.
To me it is like trading a top 6 for a 3C. |

Its me against the HB world here, as usual.
From real like NHL people....
"Reinhart best case is he turns into ROR"
"It would take more than Reinhart to get ROR"
Somebody please tell me why all of you know better then people employed by real live NHL teams? I'm not trying to be a jerk saying that, just really wanna know. |
