well written. i cannot understand why they retained any salary on the lucic trade but more surprising is that i thought they would trade lucic in order to sign hamilton. that was kind of a shock. soderberg hit the lottery and that was a great trade for them for his rights. but hamilton?

“It was surprising,” said one NHL assistant GM. “It’s obvious there’s something going on that we don’t know about. From what I’ve heard behind the scenes, his teammates don’t like him. I heard he’s a loner and sort of an uppity kid, and that his teammates don’t like him and it was unanimous.”

Just read this on-line this morning and was a bit shocked? Strange things go on there in Boston.

To all Bruin fans:
From the heart I really do understand & empathize the empty awful feeling aftermath of trading a player you virtually got scraps for. It does happen to most teams & in my life time it has happened twice, both times to those (frank)ing Leafs. The mentioning the name Doug Risebrough (pops maalox) & the Gilmour trade was the worst in Flames history but the spare parts we got for Phaneuf isn't far behind. The similarity here is pretty interesting, because a lot of GM's reported they didn't even know Dion was available. WTF GM does this???? We didn't even get a stinking 1st round pick in that deal. You guys have some great players yet, the future will be so much better in 2-3 years. But it sure doesn't do much for how you feel now.

I'm hearing that their significant offer to hamilton was 2 years At 3.5 each, if that's true they were being cheap and stupid. Smells like Harry Sinden all over again

Typical "Bush league" crap from the sport's propaganda machine here in Boston! Every player any of these teams trade or let walk and they miscalculate on they come out an try to tear down and bash.

And if the "locker room" doesn't like there best D-man and a potential superstar they are trading the wrong players! It just making them look even more pathetic with crap like this leaking out!

That locker room thing REALLY blows my mind! So we traded Boychuk and Lucic and let Thornton walk as well as Iggy.........but now we care about the locker room?!!?

Guys like Kelly and Chara are the "old guard" and they should really be looking to move on from them at this point.

A lot of finger pointing this season!

Sounds reasonable!

I mean, Smith is getting $3.5 so Hamilton should too, right?

FYI Bs fans........Krug will be a RFA after this season, again, and wouldn't sign for a TWO YEAR bridge because he wants to have a payday!

I think Krug was a luxury when we had Hamilton........Dougie looked so good on the PP that we could have traded Krug and used the Warsofsky kid instead. But now...........?

If Krug has a good year he is going to want well over the $3.5 he is getting now........

I remember when Bruin fans went crazy over the return they got on the trade from Thornton. Yet, that deal began the process that set them up to make other changes leading to the emergence of an elite team, conference finals and a Stanley Cup.

How could this weekend be the beginning of a positive rebuild? It does not seem like a strong start. If the Bruins struggle badly coming out of the gate do other top assets go on the market as the Bruins seek a lottery status? The whole thing just feels very strange.

Is it possible that Neely and Sweeney do not know what they are doing?

Who cares about a Lottery draft pick. This was the year to get the lottery draft pick.

You're probably the only one that's ignored the fact that Tommy Boy and Black Sheep are the same movie..

Doesn't make either any less funny tho

Has Calgary signed Hamilton yet? July 1st he is an RFA. Maybe we offer sheet him and pay the 1-2-3 picks and come out ahead.... I know, dreams are smoke and mirrors.
