Should have grabbed Barzal with #15 & gambled that Sensyn(?) fell to one of their 2nd picks. I was kinda upset thinking we could have had Barzal fallen to us. My picks would have been Barzal, Conner & Konecky.

Just read an article from TWO WEEKS ago about how some of the Boston media was starting the spinning for a Hamilton Trade............

Haggs, Felger, Bean, etc......HACKS!
EDIT: although Bean does think Hamilton is worth $7 per. He has been a puppet on many other issues thou.........they are too close to the players, coaches and management and think of them as friends and they are not objective because of it.

Do some of these draft picks continue to find a way to reflect this "Big Bad Bruins" mentality? Are Neely and the Jacobs really dumb enough to think this is how to win championships? They won ONE cup. Do they think the fan base only watches the Bruins? Around the league players are more skilled offensively and they refuse to bring in big time players because they are too CHEAP!!

Next year the Bruins are heading for the lottery. Might as well go full rebuild. They can't possibly think they can win a cup with the defensive core, can they?

If they don't make the playoffs I expect the entire front office to get canned and the Jacobs family will bring in more puppets to extort the fan base for as much money as possible. Same old story in Boston. We are BACK TO THE OLD DAYS!!

Ticket prices are going UP for this garbage team are you kidding me?!!?!

Typical Boston media... Haggerty should be made to stand in the net for a full practice without a cup.
Still, the ones who pulled the trigger on this are the same brain trust that had us sacrifice Seguin- namely Jacobs and Neely. As a father of 3 who has attended games, bought the kids jerseys, posters, autographs, etc-I for one won't be forking over any of my hard earned cash to the Boston Bruins for a long, long time. The Seguin deal was sickening but this Hamilton giveaway is beyond comprehension.

I really hope that the draft picks pan out. I wish the kids good luck and a great future. However, I think Sweeney and gang made terrible decisions.

I was extremely disappointed with the Bruins draft. I made my picks just prior to the Bruins selection (see below for team drafted and selection). Barzal, Connor and Sprong, Andersson were drafted immediately after the Bruins selection.

Pick # - My pick (Actual team and pick #) > Bruins pick
13 Zboril
14 Barzal (NYI - 16) instead of of DeBrusk
15 Connor (WPJ - 17) > Senyshyn
37 Kylington (CAL - 60) > Carlo
45 Sprong (PIT - 46) > Forsbacka-Karlsson
52 Rasmus Andersson (CAL - 53) > Lauzon
75 Vande Sompel (NYI - 82) > Vladar
105 Pilon (NYI - 147) > Gabrielle
165 Korostelev (TOR - 185) > Hughes
195 Paigin (EDM - 209) > J.Becker

Hopefully with all these selections a few will pan out.

After the Big Joe trade I was on cruse control for a few years. This is likely going to cause the same reaction from myself as well as, I would assume, many fans. They better come out as an "elite" team, because fighting to just make the playoffs will not cut it.

I "PLAN" around watching Bs games, some of my family and friends probably think that I am a loon! But, I have planned my day around games since I was a little kid watching with my dad. There gets to a point that it becomes too much to handle though, to emotionally care about a team and have them fail you year-after-year-after-year.

Thornton was the last straw years ago because you could at least watch someone you thought would be around for a "longtime" and maybe one day see them raise a CUP.

Just like what we did as fans with Bourque.........even though it was with another team, there was a connection and a HUGE emotional WIN that everyone felt with him because we watched him grow up in Boston. Because we watched him become one of the best ever and even if he wasn't wearing a "spoked-B" on his chest, it was still a WIN for us Bruins fans........one we deserved almost as much as he did.

Seguin and now Hamilton feels like the the return to that grey and hopeless period between Bourque's Proxy Cup win for us Bs fans and the Cup that Timmy stole for us..........

I hear ya... and I'm not a "fair weather" fan by any stretch of the imagination. Growing up with an older brother who was a habs fan I got used to being the underdog and coming up with the short end of the stick when facing the likes of Patrick Roy in the opposite net. But like you say, you invest SO MUCH emotionally as a fan and a part of the team's following. You know players move on and trades happen- but when not one but TWO young pieces of your core are just GIVEN away it's like ripping your heart out. My 11 year old was the one who discovered Dougie was traded and he was sitting at the opposite end of the couch and all of a sudden goes "OH No, Oh nooooo" and I thought he was playing a computer game and all of a sudden he's crying and says "Dad- Sweeney's no better...LOOK". I tell ya I almost threw up. I couldn't even put a positive spin on it for my kids! It's just so damn backward!! I mean if u look at what's left of the Bruins core and guys making over $4 mill a year- the ONLY One who would be worth that salary besides Bergeron would have been Hamilton- because he wasn't just the present- he was the future.
Rask, krecji, Marchand, Eriksson, Chara, Seidenberg- they could all be replaced... maybe not talent level for talent level- but suitable replacements making less $$$. There is NO replacement for the combination that Hamilton brought to the ice.

Spot on!

My little brother is in the Mariners and was on leave the last few weeks and was flying back to his station on Friday. As he is on the airplane he is texting me that Dougie was traded.......he is so pissed and bugging out.

I'm think to myself, "silly boy. You must have confused something."

I turn on my iPad and my mouth drops!

A word to the wise. The three first round draft picks the Bruins just obtained (if they make the NHL) will only be in a Bruins uniform for 3-4 years before they are traded. Good news- We will still have Chara and Seidenberg; way to BRUINS!

Sweeney?

He was a young guy on a team of older players and was forced to play on the fourth line........the coach even said he made sure to make room for him because he is a solid player.

So this next season he will be one of the older kids higher up the line-up. But, that doesn't help the Bs be contenders this coming season. Or even two seasons from now.

Sweeney and crew need to come clean. Are we in a rebuild or do they have something up their sleeve that will land two solid players. Top 4 defender and a first line 30 goal scorer. With a little under 12 million in cap with RFA to sign; I think we are in a rebuild mode.

I understand, that was why Remi Elie was selected earlier than expected too...in the 2nd round. Contend for the scoring title? Really?

Strome and Marner are likely staying in the OHL, and both were ~2ppg players... Who the hell expects him to match or beat those kind of numbers?

ONE top Four D-man? We needed one top four D-man before we traded way our best defenseman.

Now we need:
1-a Top pairing D-man to replace Hamilton AND
2-another top four D-man to replace Boychuk from last offseason.

That's also based on the hope that:
1-Chara returns to a solid shut down Top pairing guy AND
2-Seidenberg returns to form as a solid #3 D-man.

The hope from some Kool-aid drinkers in Boston is that Sweeney swings a deal for Seabrook........I guess Sweeney is really high on getting him, supposedly.

So if we were to get a guy like that and sign either Franson OR Sekera we would have a solid D-core..........BUT, to be honest I think that would cost too much and put us over the CAP. So I have know idea what the hell is going on there.

What does this have to do with the Bruins?
