Seeing as hextall kept gagner and resigned white and vv it seems that he already has a deal in place to move somebody. If we are to believe said rumor coyotes just moved a center for a wing. Opening a center position for them. They still have a ton of cap and like paying out little actual money. VLC?

I'd say he feels confident he can move another defenseman but if he could he's probably waiting for free agency chips to fall and the person with the short straw at the end of it will probably come calling more desperate than before

as far as portland goes, i think they are in a better spot than seattle to get a team.
we have the moda center that houses an nba team as well as the winterhawks...and when there is a schedule conflict the winterhawks play at the coliseum. nba team + arena + 2nd arena for winterhawks + hockey fan base = winner.

last i read was bettman saying something along the lines of "no one in seattle has the arena thing together. much of seattle becoming a possibility was contingent on them signing on for an nba team first. which has not happened.

portland seems viable considering this.

the nhlpa may consider an avenue where a team doctor prescribed said pain killers due to injuries/physical stress from playing the game of hockey ( i know he was arrested with pills that were not prescribed to him but was he EVER prescribed this addictive narcotic by an NHL team? could they be held accountabile for said addiction?)

not to wipe richards of all wrong-doing but would this be a valid route of investigation

Agreed. There's always personal responsibility, but I'm guessing there's quite a bit of the blind eye syndrome going on in the Kings' locker room when it suits them, and reactions like the one Richards received when it doesn't. And if he was ever just given a pill for pain from anyone on LAs staff who wasn't a medical doctor, this could (and should) blow up.

If I were a betting man, I'd say there's going to be 2 franchises moving and two expansion franchises.


My guess is; A team in Quebec, a team in Markham/TO, and then some combination of Seattle, Portland, and Vegas getting the remaining two franchises.

The primary candidates for moves would be Jersey and Arizona. I had thought that Florida was a potential candidate, but after watching Bettman's little performance at the start of the Draft last week, I'm thinking Florida is staying put.
