They really are, it's sad.

My wife started watching the Phillies in 2006, right as they started to become relevant. So for the first 6 years, she saw basically the golden age of Phillies baseball. Now, she realizes why I enjoyed those years so much. I can honestly say that I never took any of those Phillies teams for granted.

Yeah, at least in 72 you could watch Carlton pitch 35+ games. This is just pathetic. Outside of Franco, there's just no reason to watch this crap fest.

With you there, amigo.

I suffered through the 84-05 nightmare, and except for the one year wonder of '93, it was just ugly.

I wasn't born till 83, so I don't remember all of those dark days. I think 1992 was the first year where I could really grasp and appreciate baseball. Although they didn't win it, I think that I actually liked the 93 team better than 08. Just a bunch of dirty rotten drunks who somehow all had career years at the same time. They were basically the adult version of the Bad News Bears.

That's a pretty intense weekend. I thought you could have filed for South Philly residency at that point.

I'm just hoping the plan is to fire Amaro asap and bring in a competent GM and an experienced manager.

I'm pretty sure a badminton tournament could outdraw the Marlins.

The day Amaro is told to pack his poop will be the greatest sendoff I've seen since George W. Bush leaving the White House.

Welcome to my world, my first Phils game was at Connie Mack Stadium with my dad when I was 4. And, no, I really don't remember the game but my old man says I had a good time!

For those same reasons, I also think Phil Kessel and Dion Phaneuf are going to look a lot better in the next 12 hours than they did even a week ago

Yeah, they make huge dollars, with lots of term left

But Kessel's a legitimate top 20 scorer in the league, and Phaneuf is a top 3 defender

Somebody's going to look at it and say, "Screw it. If they were free agents, I'd be paying them what they make, anyway"

Kessel could very well go to the Pens, if they can make the dollars work. Sportsnet thinks so, and I agree -- they can make the dollars work if they want to

- AllInForFlyers

in the league?? surely you jest.

My first time at spectrum I was like 11 and the Flyers had a brawl against the Nordiques....fantastic...I barely remember that.
