I'll take him by far over AMac and I think he only has one year left on his deal if it doesn't work out. - BiggE
Yeah, I'd take him over AMac but the rest of the package would probably make me pass. For all of his faults, Buff definitely does some things very well. But he's just not my ideal top pairing dman.
Edit - I see he has mentioned hearing Laughton's name in the package. |

If the deal was just Laughton and AMac for Buff, I'd do it. I wouldn't part with any more though.
My reasoning is that I don't feel that Laughton will ever be more than a 3C and I'll take a top 4 dman with skill over a 3rd line center any day.

Ya know... if we got buff.... I wouldn't even be mad. He's not all that great in his own end, he can tend to be reckless, but he'd definitely help our cause that's for sure. - benjichronic
I'm not crazy about him as a player, but he would certainly help the Flyers score goals. |

I would not include Laughton in a deal for Byfuglien. Do you think the Flyers drafted Laughton with a first round pick thinking he would only be a 3rd line center in the league? |

How would you feel if they wanted him as a forward instead of a defenseman? He was a menace at forward in Chicago. Use him on the PP at the point with his cannon. I could see him as a nice piece upfront and even be a Matt Beleksy type upfront. Play with with Giroux and he might be flirting with 20-25 goals maybe more with PP time. |

Hope the Flyers just stand pat and make some minor moves. Backup goalie on one year deal. Maybe shed more salary |

What if the interest in Buff is for forward?
Play him on the point on the PP.
Imagine his size with Giroux and Voracek. - J35Bacher
Possible, but if they're dealing MacDonald as part of it, it seems as if they're looking at him as a D. Also, Byfuglien has said he much prefers D |

Does he ever pass coots or giroux ? No? Than he's not necessary part the future. |

What they thought on draft day is irrelevant. He is what he is.

With a week FA class this year could Mason and Simmonds and Read be pices to move.
I know you all think I am crazy but Hextall see them as piece to reshape the roster and also the cap situation. Not saying just dump them but good hockey trades. Like Winnipeg. Could Mason be an option for them if they seek a goalie upgrade?
Just spitballing with all the silliness of today |

In all likelihood, yes. But having a good bit of depth at center is needed. "Third Line Center" shouldn't be a derogatory title |
