I don't think Kane is any better a playmaker than Voracek, but he is a much better finisher, IMO. - BiggE
Maybe not just a playmaker, but a possession-driver. He's not Forsberg (best stickhandler I've ever seen) but when that guy gets the puck, he can create offense out of thin air, even when he's matched against Byfuglien. |

off topic... was it you that recommended reading Robin Hobbs?
if so thanks, love the Fitz Chivalry and the Fool books, summer entertainment at it's finest - Marc D
That wasn't me, but I'll gladly take the credit.
Edit: I've recommended Robert E. Howard to many people. |

No doubt. Damn now I think I need to do a top 10 playmakers list.

Just make sure that Rinaldo and Carcillo crack the top-10. |

I did read the whole post, but couldn't fathom even thinking about trading Mason, so the rest didn't stick out. - ThirdEye
I could.
I think Gibson in Anaheim will be a star. With them having Andersen and Kadhobin now I would see what it takes to get him.
Then I would flip Mason to a team that needs goaltending. Flip Mason, MacDonald and Laughton to Toronto for Phaneuf and something.
The big thing I was trying to point out though is that maybe Hextall sees a different value in certain players since they weren't guys he acquired or drafted. |

They're not trading Gibson.

And the Flyers aren't trading Mason. Good plan otherwise. |

I'd love to get American Hero Gibson. Am very high on him. Price would probably be too high, though. |

And for the next thrilling argument topic: Keynesian Economics vs Supply Side Economics.
Pros and Cons, which do you favor, and would Homer be able to screw up either system if he was still GM of the Flyers?
Go! - wolfhounds
Consumers vs. Producers, which is more important?

I'm beginning to question your sanity. You want to give up Steve Mason, the first high quality goaltender we've had in over a decade? Khudobin would be our starter?? |

Hey Marc, I think I recommended them. Glad you enjoyed them!
Edit: if you haven't read Patrick Rothfuss "the Name of the wind" also well worth it. Much shorter series which will leave you wanting more but well worth it.
If you want a change to excellent Sci Fi I also recommend the Vorkosigan series by Lois McMaster Bujold. So fun to read! |

No, he wanted Gibson. But I agree. But, a 1-2 punch of Mason/Gibson would be nice. |

Its been reported that Saad is very unhappy with the trade. Speculation that there was a disconnect with his agent. Winning was more important than dollars for him. |

Be nice to land him; he's a clear upgrade over Razor, who simply ran out of time |

If he wants playing time he probably will take Edmonton. I know they have Talbot but if he struggles at all Neuvirth would get a chance to play more. |

Coots is likely Handzus, underrated 40ish points, stellar D. - Tomahawk
I think coots will become more of a 20g 30a kind of player. While still playing great d. He's still developing. The kid is my age. Thank god no one is giving up on me this quick
