I'm gonna do one.
Top 10 active playmakers
1) Giroux (maybe a bit biased, but 1 & 2 should be interchangeable)
2)Crosby
3)Backstrom
4) Thornton
5) Henrik
6)Kopitar
7)Voracek
8)Zetterberg
9)Gaudreau
10)Toews - benjichronic
Not trying to start a fight, but Ryan Getzlaf has to be in there

No need for the hostility. I don't believe that was especially clear in your post, but I could be wrong. - ThirdEye
The main thing is that everyone talks about the Flyers seeing Player A as such. But that was with Holmgren as GM. I know that maybe a lot hasn't changed but with Hextall now in charge, Player A might not hold the same value as he once did.
Using Mason as an example. Maybe Hextall thinks he is just a mediocre goalie and maybe he sees something better in Gibson or some other goalie. Maybe he doesn't see Laughton like others did.
That was more my point. So if a guy like Read or Laughton or Simmonds was moved it wouldn't be a total shock as the new GM might have different feeling on those players. |

I didn't get to see all of them, but isn't Dionne known more for his goal scoring? Same with Kurri. - jmatchett383
Both were excellent scorers and playmakers.

Are 5 and 8 the same? Or is #5 Henrique (Devils)?
Edit: I'd have to include Kane and Datsyuk over Toews and Zetterberg. |

If jackets get Paul Martin, it's going to be hard to see the Flyers making the playoffs next year.
Probably already is hard |

playing with Ryan Johansen and scoring 30 goals a season may mitigate this somewhat - Marc D
Yeah cmon now... sure he wants to win, but getting paid big dollars, AND playing for one of the most up and coming teams in the league? I'd be plenty happy with that. Plus he'll probably be doing a lot of winning with CBJ honestly.

Rumours
Last night I had a message from some one who knows the Flyers well and said Hextall has an offer for either Buff or Engstrom on the table. The offer was unclear but it did involve Amac as the 'favour' in the deal with other pieces. A second source said they had heard of 'talks' between the club. So take that for what it's worth, wild speculation based on some iffy info. That's not a shot at the sources just a reality check on the evidence presented. I always like getting this info because that's the fun in all of this and let's just remember- it's supposed to be fun.

If he truly does care more about winning, I think he'd pick the dynasty over CBJ any day of the week. |
