jesus the have like 35 million on 4 guys (malkin, Crosby, letang and kessel). Toronto has to be retaining some of the cap hit I would think. and unless the pick is a number 1 Toronto really gave him away.

They are in a win now (next few seasons) culture and, in my opinion, sacrificing quite a bit of their future. Of course they could trade Malkin sometime in the future, see what that gets them. That's a boatload of money tied up in 5 players.

Still, they could definitely be dangerous.

Yeah, that last part is the key. They already had problems filling out their team w/ just 3 of those huge contracts on the books... imagine what a 4th is gonna do.
