They might feel like they have to do something with Oshie and/or Shattenkirk, and while I have issues with Brayden Schenn, his cap hit isn't one of them

I love Simmonds but Shattenkirk is a 20+ minute a game right handed defenseman. He is only 26 and defensemen typically remain productive much longer than power forwards.

Wow. The 1st rounder the leafs get is conditional upon the pens making the playoffs. If they miss in 2016 it becomes a 2017 first. If they miss the playoffs again that following year the 2017 first becomes a 2nd.

I don't see how this works out for the Pens. It's so much money committed to only 4 players. Their bottom 6 and bottom 4 defenseman are going to be crushed
