Dreger said that the Leafs would like to retain him too. Hope is that by the deadline in 2016 some team will be ready to go all in on him. - usethe1-2-2
Tough to trade a guy with that kind of contract at the deadline. I still think he's moved soon. |

It is, but according to the leafs homer they want to take a good look at him again under Babcock to see where he is trending. |

To the Pens?
Santorelli would be an awessome replacement for Lapierre I'll tell you that. Get him signed. Winnik and Comeu coming back would be huge too. Downie apparently wants $2.5M Hard to find any takers here. Too bad, I liked the guy. |

Sutter may be going to Oilers. Rumors of Schultz - a young right handed D OR Yakupov, but something else from the Pens would have to be added:

Schultz only makes sense if Scuderi or one of the young Penguin D-men is being traded (IMO) - maybe in a seperate trade.

Pouliot is the Pens best prospect and it isn't even close. The only young player more valuable is Maatta, and he's not being moved, seen as long term top pairing guy. Creates a bigger hole by trading him.
TOR and PIT are clearly playing chicken, but I agree, Pens probably go another route. I don't think Toronto is getting what they want this off-season. - Tojo.
Agreed. I just don't like their other options (oshie, sharp, skinner). Pens will have to sign a handful of bandaid players to one year deals and wait for trade deadline and/or wait until next season's fa class. |

I think Justin Schultz is a good young D-man. I'd be glad if he were on the deal. Getting Yakupov would be a huge change but I guess Pouliot would be going the other way |

Wouldn't be a bad addition, especially if Sutter is traded. - cap1681

I'm guessing with the Semin buyout, they would no longer trade Skinner. |

Schultz would be a bottom pairing guy for the Pens...I'd still trade Sutter for him though. Just can't see EDM giving up any dmen. |

I don't know who that guy is, but Sutter for Schultz would be great for us and dumb for Edmonton who lack any other decent RHD. If they did this though, they'd almost have to trade Pouliot.
It didn't sound like Yak was involved. |

I do think he'd be brought to be a 4th-5th d-man. He's a good player just needs to get better on the defensive side. |

I think you'll be very pleased with Dano at 925K. If he takes Saads spot with Toews and Hossa, I bet he puts up 60pts.
That was in reply to the Hawks fan, quotes not working again. - Willaged
Thats what i've been hearing. I'm interested in how he does and Anisimov next season for sure. Not really sure why Morin came back... maybe he was the icing on the cake!
look, Saad could be awesome in this league for sure.. Hell, he could even be the next Hossa type. Who knows. Seems like he can, but maybe that was playing with who he was playing with? Either way.... the Hawks can't afford 6.5 per on the guy right now... Not with Shaw and really Seabrook up next season, and an entire roster to fill this season.
Why do you think they were looking to unload Sharps 5.9?
Maybe had Toews and Kane taken 2 mil less it would be easier to pay guys like Saad? But they're being paid market value.. And it's going to make the rest of the Hawks roster look vaguely familiar to Penguins fans.
a bridge deal between 3.5 to 4.5 for 2 years would have been ideal. Especially since this was his first real contract. It didn't work out that way. Guess $$$ was the determining factor for Saad. And not that hometown discount he talked about after the final.
Instead of him determining how much he was worth, Hawks traded him to CBJ.
Personally I would have kept him let someone offer 6.5 and take the picks. But then he could have gone to someone the Hawks would have to play 6 times a year.
Good luck to him. On to the next. |

He's RH and a PMD, but honestly, EDM needs him way worse than the Pens do. Why the hell would EDM want Sutter? They have a ton of centers. |

Me either. He also has a tweet that says:"I think #Penguins try for Semin in Free Agency tomorrow. Sutter will be traded though. That's confirmed"
We'll see. Hope he is credible. I'd much rather not trade away Pouliot for Yakupov in the deal unless the winger coming back is damn good. Maybe they can swing Sutter for Benoit Pouliot straight up? |

Was reading his stuff, he claims to know the Sutter Family and lived by them in Red Deer. Said Chiarelli is looking at Sutter as a veteran with lots left to prove. Wants to see him surrounded by the Oilers talented wings. I did not see Yakupov's name involved in any of the talks though.
Edit* has to be BS. Pure speculation. Said Sutter is definitely being traded. |

Anyway, you got a NICE return for him! |
