I wouldn't want the Pens to send an offer sheet for Miller. No 2nd rounder so it would have to be $3.3m+/yr. and I wouldn't want to give up a 1st and 3rd for JT Miller. I hope he doesn't sign Williams unless he is taking a 1/2 year deal and I really doubt Williams does that. - jfkst1
Don't disagree w/ you - I read somewhere (blank on the source) that the Pens like Miller. I wouldn't be surprised by Williams though; the experience + leadership + pedigree thing (along w/ the CAR connection). |

A little bit happening while I was @ work (west coaster)...I'm late to the discussion, and don't have anything new that hasn't already been posted.
I'm not overly excited about Frolik -
extremely nervous about any potential trades GMJR negotiates -
For me, a big no on either Kessel and Semin (glazed donuts) -
open to Oshie, Skinner, Yaks/Eberly -
depth guys (Santorelli, Fehr, Beagle, Condra)
2 questions for tomorrow: does JR throw JT Miller an OS? Does he sign J Williams as a FA? - out_of_market
Washington re-signed Beagle for around 1.75M/3 yrs.

Since we don't have a 2nd RP why not try to force a trade JT Miller for Spaling + something else? They happen to like ex-penguins (Tanner Glass) |

Funny how Semin nor Yakupov were called for the Russian national team. - Barnaby36

Plus Russia likes to play as many khl guys as possible to make it seem like they have talented players too |

Hey AlEx_OiL, there are rumors that the Oilers want Sutter. The Pens might want Yakupov or Schultz. Sutter is a good PK center (scoring 4 SH goals) and put up 21 goals last year. What can you tell us about Schultz and do you see a deal between EDM and Pitt? |

If Rutherford signs any geezer long term I'm going to form a mob and tar and feather him. Absolute last thing Pens needs is another geezer on a long-term deal. |

So if my math is right and Pens make expected moves like sign Plotnikov and for now put 2 prospects (say Sundqvist and Wilson) on the roster, they would currently stand at 6M in cap space with one forward spot open.
Perron-Crosby-Hornqvist
Kunitz-Malkin-?
Plotnikov-Sutter-Dupuis
Wilson-Sundqvist-Bennett-Spaling
Maatta-Letang
Pouliot-Cole
Dumoulin - Lovejoy
Scuderi
Fleury - Zatkoff
That's where we roughly stand right now. |

Is that what you expect? SUCKS!
Tikhonov and Oshie or Frolik will be ours perhaps. |

Semin would look good playing on malkins right wing in that line up. Would be a better version of Malone and sykora

Id rather have Plotnikov with Malkin than Kunitz. Kunitz is a third line player and needs to be there no matter what. |

Never saw him play and some reports doubt he can make it in the NHL so I just have to temper my expectations. |

Right. This team needs youthful legs + SPEED! But, with all the 'intangibles' lining-up for Williams, I'm left thinking it's far too enticing for JR/Pens to pass-up. 2yrs deal.
Shout-out to [so_buzz11] on the Beagle correction. I missed that one. |

No one knows what Plot is. Might not be an NHL player.
Well, I can't imagine old man Ruth is still up wheeling and dealing so maybe he'll pull something off tomorrow morning before UFA begins. At the very least, unloading overpaid and expiring contracts needs to happen to get the roster competitive. |

I am not say Plot is that good, more that I have lost that much faith in Kunitz. I'd rather try an unknown than go through another season of him swinging and missing more than the Pirates. |

Look Pens Fans, go out and get a TJ Oshie and you will have something. Some of the other players mentioned are washed up or rentals. ie St. Louis Oshie would be a perfect fit in Pittsburg. This coming from a Flyers fan but just calling it like it is.

Thanks for the advice flyerdude. I'm sure you wanna see us succeed lol
Jokes aside, I'd take on St.Louis if he was dirty cheap. Good hockey sense and IQ. Could help us somehow. |

I'm excited for tomorrow.
I feel like Rutherford does something completely off the board (and i dont mean bad) but something that no one saw coming. |

I think he is going to retire. He was invisible most of last year and it is time to call it a career. Despite being a Flyer fan I also like the Pens and I have seen Oshie play lots and the guy is unreal. Not many pims but he runs people over and is a sharpshooter. I would take him over Marty, Frolik and Semin has had more chances and will disrupt you team. Oshie or hate to say it but Tikhonov could also be a good fit. |

He likely will. I think he is senile and after wiping out the Canes with bad contracts and what not he is still in charge. I doubt very much he goes back for a second dose of Semin, haha |

Oh I definitely want to add Oshie to this team but the price might be too steep. Tikhonov is a no brainer for me. He should be signed alongside Plotnikov.
Frolik is a good player to have but he'll be expensive. Good two-way forward.
Hopefully we turn Sutter into good assets like J.Schultz or B.Pouliot. |

Hate to say this, but I agree with him. Oshie would be a great get. He plays 200 feet, and makes life hell for the opposing team. Trade Kunitz, and sign Frolik, and this teams top 6 is set. |

the only geezer that seems to want a long deal is Joel Ward. hopefully everything else is pretty short term. |
