Anyone can be traded for the right price. I agree though. He's developed into a great player and his contract is a steal. |

The Shatty to Edmonton rumor was a joke. Matheson does that all the time, and it's basically a figment of his imagination: "hmmm, I wonder if the Blues would trade Shattenkirk for the 16th pick?" That's not a rumor......it's a stupid comment from a guy who does this all the time. There is never any basis to what he writes.
Ok, rant over. |

No one would be. Basically, it would set his price & Army could get his deal done. The Blues have over $14 milllion in cap space. Regardless of the #'s on the offer sheet, Blues match. No question. The only real question is, does St. Louis return the favor on Girgensons or maybe Ristolainen next year? |

Per NHL.com
Forward Vladimir Tarasenko likely will not re-sign with the St. Louis Blues before he becomes a restricted free agent Wednesday, general manager Doug Armstrong told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch on Tuesday.
"We're having conversations, but I think both sides think it's best to keep it quiet," Armstrong told the newspaper. "I've been clear that he's a priority for us and he understands that. Now we've just got to see if we can get a deal done."
Armstrong said the Blues will not be active in the market for unrestricted free agents until Tarasenko is re-signed.
"We'll talk to our own restricted free agents, but we're going to stay away from the unrestricteds until we find out what Vladi's intentions are," he said. |

Vlad isn't going anywhere. And Doug has made that crystal clear....with the cap space and not signing any unrestricted free agents. So with that said...if I am a Western Conference rival....I throw an offer sheet well above what Vlad was suppose to get
Because there is probably a 99% chance the Blues match whatever is thrown at Vlad.
Haha. Oh, I hope that is exactly what transpires this week. |

If im the blues and some team wants to be a punk and offer vlad 8mil for him on a offer sheet let them have him and take all the compensation which is THREE 1sts i believe if its worth that much? outside of a player like gretzky, crosby, stamkos etc you arent worth 3 1st. |

Every summer the Blues have an RFA trolls say is going to get an offer sheet. Didn't happen with Petro, didn't happen with Schwartz, won't happen with Tarasenko. Teams don't because Blues have the space to match; thanks to our GM not signing players to contracts that are stupid on a Nathan Horton level. |

St Louis better hope it's the Oilers then, because the three firsts would be the overall first pick in the next three drafts.

People keep saying this but a team CANNOT due that unless they have THEIR OWN draft picks that fulfill the compensation in the CBA. How many teams have their OWN 1st, 2nd and 3rd picks (smallest level of compensation of a likely offer sheet)? How many have 2 1st, a 2nd and a 3rd. Remember, the averaged annual salary for compensation purposes is determined by dividing the total compensation by the lesser of the number of years of the Offer Sheet or five years. |

So, what happens if they offer sheet Tarasenko and Allen? Is Allen offer sheet eligible? |

That will never happen. That is a serious overvaluation of TJ Oshie. Yakupov has a rep for not working hard, but his potential is so much higher at this point in his career than Oshie.
I hope that I'm wrong.

I can't see anyone putting an offer sheet in front of Allen. For all the talk every year, you can count on one hand the number of players league wide that actually receive an offer sheet.
I guess there were pretty strong indications that Anaheim was going to sign Saad, which is why Chicago made the deal with Columbus. |
