Nothing wrong with a healthy debate. It's just really hard to change another man's opinion.

I'm guessing Gilman and Henning weren't big fans of some of Benning's moves.
- Nucker101

Probably not, but I don't view it much different than a Gm bringing in his own coach and moving the old one.

If a team is on the same page they can move quicker.

I will going forward not get into debates with you and your long winded lectures that you have to have on a daily routine with poster.

I will avoid your posts and ask you do the same.

Why don't you grow up? The only other guy in my decade here on HB who refuses to let things go after is Fosco. The list of guys who exploded on me like you did is pretty long and we all still talk like adults and have let water under the bridge. I get over it very quickly or I wouldn't joke around with guys like Bloated or discuss things with Chompsey. You surprise me.

I'll remind you that I was hard on your opinions... but you have just simply come at me with personality attacks in your defense. I really don't remember you actually defending your opinion I was so hard on.

You have a lot of nerve going on about me being long winded. Your own opinions are worth beating to death for years... if it's someone else... enough is enough.

Sometimes a good discussion can actually change your thinking a bit. It's happened to me before. Anyone who makes it personal needs to relax though. It's just a hockey team.

I get that but at the same time you need to be open-minded. Benning seems to really trust the people/players he brings in, to a fault imo. I would have been really impressed if he admitted Sbisa was a mistake and cut ties with him or at least Yannick Weber'd him.

Let's hope Delorme isn't one of his boys. Weisbrod being his right hand man scares the poop outta me.

Not really That one I can live with it since Benning's strength is apparently scouting.

I have to say I loved the Sundin signing. I think he really helped the Sedins become superstars. Once he played himself into shape he was a damned good player too.
- golfingsince

The emergence of Kesler was on Sundin's wing.

There were silver linings... but how could there not be... way over paid but Sundin was one hell of a hockey player and personality... Compare how bringing in the great leader Messier worked for money that was insane at the time? Sundin is here one year and you could see the positives rub off. Messeir and Keenan conspired to split the dressing room. He never led poop here...

Not gonna lie though, I really wish they took Ehlers over Virtanen even more than a year ago. If Ehlers ends up becoming a much better player that pick will haunt Benning.

I know how you feel about Weisbrod.

Some one came up with an interesting POV the other day . What if Delorme wasn't the problem and fault laid on the Developing part of the team . They presented what ifs that a good player was drafted by a team like the Canes instead of the Hawks how would their career end up. It was food for thought

Yeah Sundin was way overpaid, but that's what it took I guess. I would have like to have him for another season at less money. What he did his last season in TO was amazing, nearly carrying that poopty team right into the playoffs.

About the only good thing that happened from Keenan/Messier was the Linden trade. Of course, Keenan later helped us again from Florida.

I still stand behind JV because that is a huge issue addressed but Dayam Ehlers looks like a very good player

I'd make that trade in a second. I like JV too but Ehlers has higher upside imo

The thing I liked about the Sundin signing was Gillis swung for the homer.
