Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Breaking Down the First Half of the 2015-16 Schedule The Vancouver Canucks will be spending a lot of time away from Rogers Arena during their first half of their 2015-16 season.

That's a tough schedule to start the year. We could have a clear indication if we're gonna be sellers or not by the new year.

Question to Lombardi? Did the NHL and the NHLPA accept the termination of the Richards contract or is it still under investigation?

I just seen your response. You have to wonder what kind of crap they have on this guy? Everyone knows he was caught at the border with pills , so it is the rest of the story that they are hanging over him in hopes that he doesn't want to go public.

My understanding is that the league OKed the move before the Kings did it, so they have permission right now to proceed with their cap situation assuming that the contract is terminated.

I believe the NHLPA still has the right to file a grievance, but that hasn't happened yet, to my knowledge.

I'm surprised by that, considering Richards hasn't even been charged with a crime.

I think it'll be years before this situation gets completely sorted out...

I was just saying that on the post above. There seems to be many layers to this. I agree we will probably never know the truth .

Lucky break for the Kings

Nucker and the rest of the chicken-little's will be on full suicide watch by Christmas. Should be a fun season ahead.

It will be a very controversial season ahead , but it wasn't created by Nucker .

If the Canucks could just improve their defence, bring in more of a puck mover, I think it would mean the difference between fringe and a finish closer to where we were last season (with the other teams improved around us).

The puck hasn't dropped, the season hasn't started, yet for some reason, I am feeling a little optimistic.

Maybe Corrado or Clendening will shine.

It will only be contraversial to the 'instant gratification' crowd. The realists will sit back and enjoy watching the pieces slowly being added as our team continues the rebuild towards being a contender, again. As long as they continue to play an entertaining brand of hockey, I'm in. The level of hysteria will, no doubt, reach unprecedented levels this coming season.

No investigation, the league is on LA's side and they are just waiting on the PA to decide their next move. Richards has done something to violate a clause of his contract, the league and the Kings say Richards is a free agent.

My take is I am quite excited for the future of this team. I think when Cassels JV McCann come on board this will be a fun team to watch again.

The present is what myself and others painfully sit by and watch. We will be entering the 5 th year since the cup run with mostly the same core that has won 3 playoff games in 4 years.

Canucks are lucky to have fans such as yourself that remain very patient and accept whatever they do or throw out there.

There is no reason to get upset when others don't want to go that route. I will be truthful it will be painful to watch these same core players try again to make it past the first round.

The drafting has been excellent and Vrbata was a very good pick up . The rest of the moves have been very tepid.

I love Seinfeld but after watching every episode 10 times or more , one grows tired of the product. I am still a Canuck fan but my interest and expectations are very low.

Some promising words came out of the GMs mouth with so far little sizzle to back it up.
I think Nucker is one of the smarter posters on here , but he is frustrated by what he is seeing. I can't say he is wrong or that a good portion of the city is wrong.

If one person whines , you can call them a whiner , when thousands are whining , then there is a problem

I agree. We've also had a mostly competitive and entertaining team for 15 years, so this could be the first taste of some lean times for many of the younger fans.

Yup...City is full of them. They change their avatar to support another team as soon as there is a sign we may not be competitive for a few years. The true fans won't jump ship even if we are out of the playoffs for 5 years

That's bull.

When you have a reaction as big as this you just can't paint everyone as bandwagon fans.

Go read Canucks Army blog today on Miller. They question Bennings common sense . I have seen THN label Canucks as one of the three top losers in FA and the draft. It is not just Botchford and Pratt stirring crap. Did you see how active Twitter was the night of the Town Hall meeting? People were ripping into Benning.

Just because people don't take your side of line does not make them uneducated or fine weather fans.

It's pretty hard to be a draft day winner when you don't have the picks. We also don't have the cap space to be adding a bunch of free agents. The team is trying to rebuild on the fly, which isn't easy. You aren't going to see the results immediately but hopefully the youth comes in slowly to a winning culture.

I think people are just perpetuating a narrative right now that has no factual support until the games are played. The media is doing its job. They are judging the team based on some elementary moves. However, they can't just assume that the Canucks going to take a step back, or that everyone else in the pacific is going to take a step forward. Games have to be played.

If there's a chance that we will suck, there is also a chance that we will be decent enough to get into the playoffs.

I saw this exact same thing happen last offseason. The media was spewing the narrative that the Canucks were done until we started playing the games. Once people realized that we could win, they were happy. Everything was going well until we got beat in the playoffs, and then that same narrative started all over again.

I don't think that the Canucks are good enough to win the Stanley Cup; but, are they bottom half in the western conference? I don't think so.

I also feel there are way too many variables to predict how the Canucks will do.

1. How healthy will they be ?

2. What kind of growth do we see from the youth ?

3. Decline from the vets ?

4. 2nd year for WD and his system

just to name a few.
