1 billion signed For 300plus contracts since July 1
- VANTEL

I don't think the cap from season to season anymore will be seeing any sort of major jump, unless the Cdn dollar kicks it in gear. Contracts should be a little more consistent from now on.

Another player that for the right price would look good.

I was going to ask what line he would be on, but it doesn't really matter the order.

I'm not against signing him, Fehr. But I think someone has to be moved out to free up some cap.

I'd move Vrbata now if I could get a 1st for him.

Might as well wait until the trade deadline now, although you take the risk that he either plays well enough to help keep the Canucks in contention and therefore not sellers at the deadline or he has a poor season and hurts his value.

There is nothing wrong with the canadian dollar its exactly where it was 2 years ago when we were 1.10. The US dollar is high and over inflated.

I'd trade high on him. If the plan is to not re-sign him, if he starts the season off with a bang and someone wants to give you a first round pick right away. Otherwise he could poop the bed for the rest of the season or get injured and get see another player leave for nothing.

It does hurt when your buisness makes a large portion of its revenue in Canadian dollars but deals exclusively in American dollars.

It'd probably be at least a few months into the season before you could make that deal. Right now most rosters are more or less set, it'll take awhile to see where the holes are.

Bingo.

For the Canucks to miss the playoffs and get full value for him, he has to be having another good year and much of the team having off years around him.

We have lots of wingers, but are short of nhl ready centres. If we signed Fehr, we would be looking pretty solid down the middle.

and if Cassels or another centre in Utica looked like they might be ready to take over 4th line centre, I'd trade Bonino at the tdl if it was for a good return, regardless of playoff spot.

Yeah I didn't mean for it to be in the first 10 games of the season. More around the 30 games mark. Teams find holes as you said, could use a boast in scoring or injuries happen. Many factors, I just don't want to see another player leave for nothing.

Max Reinhart says Vey is a stud, one of the most skilled players he's seen. He just needs to be put in the right spot. I was surprised to hear that, I think Vey is a plug.

He also said Baerschi is going to do real well in Van, he's happy to get out of the Flames system.

Considering Vancouver's cap situation, this is good news isn't it?

Just read that Marcus Johansson and Caps are far apart on negotiating. Caps have a little over 4 mil in space. They may b looking to trade.

Vrbata for Johansson and Canucks keep2 mil. Sign Johansson for 5 mil and Baertschi for 1 mil .

Haha Okay, that's cool. Seems as if there is a lot of favouritism in the Flames organization.

Lots of wingers on the left too. If Vey plays wing someone gets bumped

He asked for 4.75, haven't heard what the caps offered. 2 years of 44 and 47 points. The only thing about trading Vrbata to washington now is that they went out and got Justin williams and TJ Oshie.

Someone is going to have to be bumped somewhere. If any of the younger players has a decent camp then it will be even worse. Van has way too many plug players that are capable but just won't ever improve like a younger play could.

Lots of scoring power then

Actually a decent trade would be Sven and Hansen to Caps for Johansson

I wonder if Washington is just unwilling to play 4+ for their 3rd line center for next season.
would van or washington go Bonino for Johansson and a 3rd?
