Benning deserves the criticism . He has made a lot of questionable moves - VANTEL
Absolutely, i just find it odd how Gillis has quickly "reemerged" as the Golden boy of GM'ing in light of Bennings bizarre/questionable/horrid moves of late.
I suppose its merely a symbolic representation concerning the bandwagoning behavior of this fanbase |

They're definitely looking ahead IMO, but how they're planning it out I have no idea...no one really can and they're not going to spell it out for everyone. - LeftCoaster
Well that's dumb.
State your intentions and follow through. how the hell do you expect anyone to trust you if you don't make it known what your plan is for the team? |

The way Benning has been trading lately I'm not sure I'd like the return he'd get for trading the Sedins - canucktruck
Sedins for Bozak and Phaneuf. |

Looking at this deal it reminds me of the Kesler trade. It's very similar, Bonino is involved in both, Sbisa and Clendening isn't much of a big difference imo, the only slight difference is the pick is slightly lower, so is Suter as good as Kesler based on the return? |

It's a bad sign that it's hard to even fathom "the plan" or make sense of some of his moves. Red flags that some keep brushing off, but the list keeps getting bigger and soon all of these "small" deals that look questionable will add up and be too difficult for most to keep ignoring. |

in what (frank)in corporate world does a management team take a full page add out and spell out their business goals for everyone? I have to sign a confidentiality agreement and I'm sure they do too. Although they do seem to be pretty open with the media where Mike Gillis was the total opposite.
You'll simple get we plan to get bigger, younger and faster....nothing more. |

I just cannot comprehend what the plan here is. Unless he's banking on being able to pick up some big UFA's next season, but even then there's a good chance he'll get (frank)ed by the expansion draft. - BINGO!
No one can comprehend the plan yet there are a few who are defending it to the death. We have two camps here; Benning Fluffers and Benning Whiners. Yet we all agree that creating a younger roster and hording draft picks should be the focus.
Is that happening? |

Depends on if Sutter sleeps with other teammates wives, girlfriends , and Nucker that will we ever know if it will have the same impact . |

I've read your posts for years now, you're a knowledgeable hockey guy, yet THE PLAN is not obvious to you.
Could that suggest that maybe, just maybe, there is no plan? |

isn't the 2nd the ANA pick which will likely be the last pick in the 2nd round and the 3rd round pick is Buffalo's in the 3rd round which will likely be one of the first in the third? we're talking maybe the difference between 1-10 picks between the two picks.... is that really worth complaining about? - Mungo
Buffalo will still be bad, but not nearly as bad. Again, these small things add up. Pit should have asked for a 3rd in exchange for a 4th as well or something because no biggie right?
Other GM's are taking notice of these things and will push for these little throw-ins in the future as well. |

It will be Canucks original third round pick |
