Toronto is 3300 km/2100 miles (as the crow flies) away from the West Coast, I fail to understand the love for this franchise if you're a born and raised West Coaster? Except Vancity, I blame his grandpa for his deal |

I use to follow Mariners but over the last 10 years I stopped watching and became totally unattached to baseball. |

Ya it's more of a pastime and reason to drink beer than a passion. Oakland has been in the playoffs several of the past years and I really enjoy attending games in Seattle, great ballpark. |

Exactly . I don't have any real ties to a team now but a good way to spend an afternoon. |

According to Matt Sekeres you are not Canadian if you cheer for any one other than the Toronto Blue Jays. I'm finding more & more reasons to stop listening to that radio station. |

I am revisiting the Marcus Johansson situation. Caps have offered 3 , he wants 4.75. Caps have 4.2 in space. They don't want to use up all their cap space on what they call one of their third liners.
I think Canucks could use him as a second line LHF.
Sven is wanting to be overpaid , so swap the two RFAs. Hansen has a 2.5 cap hit , plus Sven 1.2 would leave Caps at 3.7 . Half a mil under the limit. Canucks should throw in Jensen to make the deal look better.
Sign Johansson 3 years 4.25 , and bring in JV and you complete your 23 man roster and come in under 100 K under cap.
Johansson Horvat Vrbata
Higgins Bonino Virtanen
Prust Cassels/Vey Dorsett
Kenins gets replaced by Cassels |

Trade Bonino and Baertschi for Johansson and a 2nd
PS: they should have drafted Johansson instead of Jordan Schroeder |

We are thin on centres though. I think Bonino will do good as a third line centre |

Yes they are, but Johansson is a center. Essentially you trade Bonino for Johansson and recoup the 2nd you gave Calgary for Sven. I know Johansson's salary will be almost twice what Boners is, but he's two years younger.

Canucks would need to move out about 500k more to bring up A player to make a 23 man roster |

How far away is Oakland?
92 and 93 I was 15 years old... Born in Toronto ...
Jays are Canada's team, as was evident on the weekend in Seattle. |

The Blue Jays are supported by people who moved from Ontario out here. You'll be hard pressed to find someone born out west support anything from Toronto. |

I was on the bandwagon when they were winning back to back championships, not driving around honking my horn gelling go Jays or anything, but watched the finals and cheered for them. I've become much less interested, but my team is Detroit, because of Tom Selleck |

That's a lie. I've got a hsitload of friends from Vancouver that support the Jays.
Deal with it, the Jays are Canada's team. Safeco was 80% jays fans on the weekend, it was fricken awesome.
We were loud and proud, much more than any Canucks game crowd. |

It's 1200 kms away and it's in the same time zone. Vancouver is FULL of people, like yourself, not from the Coast. |
