I was 14 when they made the magical run to the cup in 94, since then I have been fan and supporter of this team.
I have watched almost every game since the west coast express days.
Through thick and thin I support this team whether I agree with the decisions or not.
I remember how nobody thought that the twins would amount to much, but they have.
I hope that the ,moves Linden and Benning are making work out, but I will still support them if they don't.
Thats me and why I am part of this fanbase. I hate it when they have a down year and everyone jumps off of the bandwagon and hopes for a tank. I just hope that they try to make the playoffs every year. - Pres.cup
Ya so many predictions about thencanucks have wrong....sedins as 1. Then Henrik goes and wins scoring title and daniel the runner up the following year.
Best thing to go with is that people usually dont know their hockey ass from a hole in the ground, especially with popular teams. if its a popular notion making the rounds like wildfire its probably dead ass wrong |

I mean that he said hes going through school 1st before he goes pro - SMBDragon
Oh, well he still plays hockey while he's at school. If he's ready to jump to the NHL, then he'll be able to complete school at his leisure. |

In other news the Tampa blog is alive and well, full of leaf fans who claim that they will tell Stamkos to sit tight for 2-3 years to allow their prospects to develop and then demand a trade to Toronto for a bag of pucks because he will be disgruntled with the lightning orginization...
You honestly can't make this stuff up |

A friend golfed with Don Meehan (Stamkos's agent) and he told him he's signing with the Leafs next year. |

Im wondering why he'd chose toronto. Im not saying anything negative about the team just wondering what his attraction to toronto would be. Like is he from there or whats the idea |

*trades him in hockey pool*
But seriously, him and Marner would be amazing together assuming Marner reaches his potential so it wouldn't be that bad for his personal stats. |

off the top of my head...term? NTC's or other guarantee's?
I'm just saying if i was an agent, i would want rumors of my client going to other teams to be out there as well.

Honestly I would be laughing at your brutally obvious tank more if there wasn't Jack Eichel in the mix. It would have been hilarious to suck so bad and still lose the #1 pick if there were not two great players available.
I think Eichel will be phenomenal. Its just funny how Buffalo in many ways has always had to embrace the suck-- They tried to lose their way to the #1 pick and still failed.
I mean really... when you think about it-- It's pretty phucking impressive. - rugdnit
Oh I am in no way denying that we shot for last. However even if Eichel did not exist would you seriously not be happy with Reinhart and Strome as your top two centers? Regardless the fact that Eichel was available made finishing last so important. The fact that we were guaranteed Eichel OR McDavid |

I don't buy it. Hero or goat, and pay thrice the taxes he's paying now with a higher cost of living on a worse team. I bet he'll re-sign in Tampa for 8 years, $85 million. |

Why bolt from a playoff contender to go to a team that has just started a rebuild?
Why not at least resign in Tampa for 3 more years and then go to the Leafs? And even as I type that, I wonder what kind of team the Leafs will be in 3 years?
I can't understand how a competitive player like Stamkos would want to go from being in the hunt for a Stanley Cup to playing for a team that isn't close to contending and... .... Why leave a good thing? |

While I think itll be great on paper to see some of those players in the bure over 45 league I also dont think itll be a success. Maybe initially therell be a lot of interest but people are remembering players in their prime with things to play for like the cup, season stats, contracts. Guys that havent played in years, not in game shape with nothing to play for other than novelty isnt going to be entertaining.
Id say watching these guys these days will be a supreme disappointment and flop. Dont see it working. - SMBDragon
I think that anyone who thinks this wont work isnt anywhere near 45 years old. I play in 40+ tournaments with a bunch of ex-JrB, JrA and OHL beer leaguers .... and the hockey is fantastic to play in and watch.
To see some of these ex-pros playing again would be great. Remember, this isnt a league per se, its a preamble for the 2016 IIHF World Championships. It's basically a tournament.
I wonder who would be on a Team Canada roster? |

this is my guess too. I dont see him going to TO until later in his career.
Living in Tampa must be awesome.

Imagine if he did go there as soon as he becomes ufa. Toronto fans will question why he isn't producing the same numbers as he was with the Lightning and others will question why they are not bad enough for a top 5 pick. |
