Getting Sekera helps immensely but still really a #2 Dman, Gryba helps as well & Klefbom is improving but still not quite good enough in the power house West to make the top 8 but they will be right there this season just missing by a couple of points. no more than 6 & the future looks bright every where in Edmonton now. 1 more season & Edmonton vaults up the standings significantly to serious playoff contender.

Buffalo will improve also but that means going from the worst team of the modern era to about 14th, possibly 13th in the east. An improvement but Lehner is going to look really bad playing behind that D. I don't even see how to pair them other than I know Bogosian, Gorges & 2nd year player Ristolainen are their top 3.

That's really ugly, young, & has 3 D that shouldn't even be playing in the NHL & if they are, that's a serious problem.

Having watched, and liked Sekera for years, he is at best a full time #3 D. When he plays top pairing minutes for extended periods of time, he becomes exposed.

He needs to be sheltered in matchups a bit to perform at an optimum level.

I have no idea how much you have watched but Ristolainen and Pysyk both deserve to be playing in the NHL. That is without question.

Agreed on everything you said, which leads back to how much you get away with is totally dependent on the quality of player you are, which is a very sad reality.

To me, stuff like the money phone and doing pushups with money on his back is far from a big deal is.

Lack of effort, however, is mind numbing.

I've stopped reading JT & his comments are more outlandish than Ek's. I simple stopped reading his blogs. NYR are one of the best defensive teams in hockey. Talbot is a decent goaltender, don't get me worng, but Talbot on the NYR playing 30 some rested games is going to be a helluva lot better than Talbot on the Oilers, playing 60+ games with a notoriously porous defense. Watch his GAA and S% drop subaverage.

E.Kane hasnt done anything of that magnitude of P.Kane so I am not comparing the 2 in that regard, but its more than just locker room stuff with E.Kane.

He was really shady in Winnipeg bars coming up to girls, lots of stories about him not paying his tabs, going into places and demanding he should be paid to be there or to give them shout outs on twitter, just more Richard head stuff for a guy that has way too much money in a small town. He lives a vegas lifestyle in hard working blue collar towns and it rubs people the wrong way really quickly

I totally agree with you on the cab driver part but I don't think you can say anything about him being accused of rape. How do we know this girl didn't make it up to try and get money? We don't and I'm not saying she did but she could have. If he's found guilty then yes we can bring it up and say he has bad character but he's only been accused of doing something so we can't hold that on P. Kane yet

Talbot is a competent goalie but if Tanner thinks he helped that defense, more than the defense helped him, he seriously needs to stop writing about hockey and expect to be taken seriously.

People underrate Talbot because they think the Rangers have a great defense which he benifited from. Not true - the Rangers D wasn't that much greater than the Oilers last year.

Stop embarrassing yourself. NYR had the 3rd best goals against last season allowing 187 goals. Edmonton was worst at 276. That's more than a goal a game. At even strength NYR allowed 138, Edmonton 199. That's more goals allowed at even strength than NYR allowed in total.

Give your head a shake. Perhaps you should try writing about ping pong!
