It is not the end of the world to overpay for 1 or 2 players if you have guys on elc's that are regulars and contributing big time. Especially if the guys getting overpaid are on short contracts.

But it can still handcuff you later.

I know it is obvious, but drafting and development is so important. It is just great to have young guys pushing for spots and being able to trade the older player for picks and keep the cycle going.
