We had a pretty tough player in Sestito playing for us when Nolan was going after Henrik, it didn't accomplish anything. Team toughness needs to come from your top lines IMO anyways, having 4th line tough guys doesn't accomplish much.

This is why I can understand the appeal of having Lucic in the top 6 but I just can't stand him.

Sestito was after the fact.it should have been responded to immediately.

You rarely see when a player starts a fight on the same play of a big hit as an instigator.

Also lets face the fact the NHL and refs hated Gillis.

Having a Dorsett Prust Lucic on every line will lead to a quicker response

I enjoy football but don't watch it as much anymore.

Regardless of which sport I'm watching there are players who in my opinion are scum and Lucic is one of them.
I don't think we are going to agree on this, your position seems to be the ends justify the means and it happens in every sport.

My position is that I think integrity is as important as winning, everyone has there own bar on what is acceptable from players.

Integrity is all good and fine but you have to have the tough mental and physical state to back it all up. If we are going to chnage the culture from the country club of the past let's not do it half-assed and leave all the tough guy stuff to Dorsett... while Bieksa stood around with his thumb up his ass and Kassian just swinging his stick around. Guys like Prust and Lucic will not just help Dorsett bring it ON the ice but help the locker room culture big time. When you look across a room and see a guy that will go to war for you night in night out it creates a bond and an aura of chemistry we just don't have right now. It would be nice to see some of that here while the kids have th freedom to develop.

I don't know how many slashes I have seen where players end up with broken wrists or hands or broken fingers. Just about every player has slashed someone. Fans accept it as part of the game, but cup checks are forbidden . Sorry I don't get it.

Like I said earlier it was Kieth's stick work that ultimately sealed the deal with me about my dislike for him as well.

And I don't know about you, but shots to the nuts has always been a big sign of disrespect during any activity including fights. There is a reason why anything basically goes in UFA except shots to the junk.

in your opinion, a foul is a foul. fair enough. but to me, it's on the same level as hair pulling and biting. probably worse, just based on pain.

Seabrook maybe, but also think that Chicago will maneuver things to keep him. IMO we are probably a couple of retooling seasons away from the point of looking for high priced free agents. Character players while replacing the core with younger players and picking up higher draft picks. I'd be content with a team that doesn't make the playoffs for the next couple of seasons, but works their arses off every night.

No there are different levels of fouls . I was more or less trying to point out some players slash with the intenention of breaking something . If a player slashes with the face of a stick it hurts a lot less, but some players use the heel or bottom , which will do a lot more damage. They get away with it time after time and it is accepted as part of the game. Any use of the stick to slap hack or chop should be a penalty but the league turns a blind eye

Anyone expecting Lucic to only get 5 years or less than 6 million will be disappointed IMO. He'll get 6x6 at least, maybe even a bit more than 6M per.
