Pat Quinn and Brian Burke are the only two General Managers, IMO, that have ever blazed their own trail, thru building a team (drafting & trades), in the Canucks history. I'm thinking Jim Benning will go down with these two guys in Canucks history....time will tell.

How long will it be before Canucks fans give Mike Gillis the credit he deserves? He built the best team in franchise history. |

Better yet, how about a Mount Rushmore of NHL Players?
Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Gordie Howe, Maurice Richard would be mine. - DariusKnight

I second this idea.
I'm still bent out of shape about the Sedins not making The Hockey News' Top 50. I can see how they'd be on the cusp of a Top 20, but 50?
I'd love to see more Top 20 lists—or whatever works for you. How do you rank the league's best players, with an eye towards what they'll deliver in 2015-16? - Carol Schram

That's an unfair criticism, given that all top end players usually get most of their points on the power-play. Ovechkin isn't an exception, he is the rule.
Ovechkin (and Stamkos) are probably two of the most natural and prolific scorers of the recent past. They simply make it look easy and have consistently put up the numbers to back it all up.
I think even because Ovechkin had that one subpar year, it in no way suggests that he still isn't one of the best players (arguably even best period, depending on how you define things) in the game today. - Zogg
I agree Zogg, it's all how you define things. OV is a pure goal scorer, PP or not, he scores the most amazing highlight reel goals. I would definitely have him in the top 3, but that's me.
A little while ago we had a few trolls drop by to stir things up and a few of us took the bait, and it turned into a....err...challenge (being PC). It went on back and forth for a few days or weeks, with a few here getting banned.
As a result, I have agreed to help moderate Carols blog, and hopefully we don't have to endure a similar situation.
I am usually here everyday, and I hope that everyone stopping by to discuss hockey agrees to be respectful of others. Derogatory comments, insulting innuendos, or posting solely to inflame or disrupt, isn't welcome. Please don't engage, we have a good and diverse fan base, I certainly enjoy the banter and different points of view.
If there's an issue, let me know.

Of course they are. They're called the Canada Blue Jays, aren't they?
Edit:
Wait a sec. A quick google search says that they are not. |

Even though he's a winger, Ovechkin would make my top 3. One of the best goal scorers to ever play. Crosby would be the other one in my top 3 and I'd have to think about the 3rd guy. - Nucker101
You don't even know the responsibilities of a centerman, you think he's the high man, how would you know who's the best in the game if you don't understand the game lol.

The job of the centre is to make he line look good. That is why most of them are pretty boys and get there faces on the box of Wheaties.

I'd take Lucic for a big hometown discount for sure... so what I really mean is we are not going to see him sign here next year. - boonerbuck
He is a total douche. When he started giving $hit to the guys in the shaking hands line, I lost whatever respect I had for him. He is a meathead with no class. Not surprising |

Lets hope the change benefits Sutter, you just never know. As long as he doesn't turn into another Barry Peterson |
