a good game all in all, some bright spots and a few things to maybe worry about.
on the bright side i was really impressed with Friesen , he sure would look good as a fourth line center , reminds me of a Draper/Helm type guy , Jensen was actually playing a fairly strong game , Hutton with 3 assists and some nice calm plays in his own end in time he's gonna be a good one for sure. Gaunce is ready to take over for Higgins right now imo, and with his full year in the Ahl under his belt is probably most physically ready too.

hamhuis really has me a little worried with his skating , he seems to have lost a step, i wonder if surgery and full rehab would have been a better option?

it's a preseason game , so really nothing to pressing but if last night showed anything it is that our organizational depth is looking very good on all fronts really!

Went to a couple Comets last yr. Frsisen is everywhere. The guy can kill penalties and he is a ball on energy. As I mentioned at the time, not sure he's big enough for the bigs but if he is or can overcome it, he's an amazing 4th liner

It sucks that we're up against the cap despite not having a single player on this list.

Edit: also, I guess the Sedins did take a hometown discount.

Miller didn't look that good positionally and made some bad plays on the puck. He was not at his best.

Yup. He can take the entire preseason to get going for all I care, as long as he does get going.

It is preseason but we can't just shrug our shoulders and say oh well. We have seen signs for years about making AHL goalies look like Vezina winners, and turn no name slugs into hart trophy contenders.

I stick by my guns soon as all the core is gone then Canucks will become a contender

- VANTEL

I think if the Sedins are here in 2 years and the rest of the core has finally been moved out we could see great strides towards that.

Sometimes a goalie steals you a game and sometimes they lose it for you. That's all last night was.

Luongo used to take almost a month to get going, so fingers crossed.

- CubanBuffet

I hear what you are saying however I don't think this club (as opposed to our clubs in the past 4-5 years) will be able to recover from taking a month to get going.

Hoping.

Yeah , I am not on the Sbisa band wagon at all. I tried getting behind him but he is just a big mistake.

Yeah...starting to think this way as well.

What's more disturbing is the number of players on there that don't deserve to be. What the Canucks are paying the Sedins is perfectly fine.

Everyone was on the Subban wagon yesterday. I was wondering what everyones problem is? Yeah he has skills but I don't think the size is there. 5'9" (thats being generous)is not big enough for a regular NHL Defenceman. Great skills but..

As long as the Sedins are here everything will go through them . I believe you need to have the clean slate.

Last nights PP goal was a thing of beauty . It was pass pass shoot at a high speed.

Other PP I seen Edler slowing it down looking for the twins

There is only a handful of players on that list that I think are worth the money.

Yeah have to agree with this 100%. I've never really been a Sedin detractor but it's clear we need to look way beyond them. Once we have a true top 4 D and No 1 goalie...we can start building around our centres in Horvat-Sutter McCann and Cassels. I'm not sure keeping the Sedins here for one year deals or so is a good way to go either. We need to shift away from that mentality altogether and move forward but man will it be a process.

I know it's only preseason but after watching Tanev-Edler-Hamhuis last night and Miller I would not shed a tear if they were all gone at TDL. Might wanna keep Burrows and Hansen for a bit for their effort and versatility and that's it. Higgins will most likely be gone anyways.

I think people were concerned that his feelings weren't taken into account.

Sedins are great people and are great players, but vancouver needs a new look and new mentality towards the game.

I love what Burrows and Hamhuis have given Vancouver but I hope this is their last yer here.

I don't like Higgins or Edler
