So what's the good word today...are we arguing or getting along? I need a break from life for 60 minutes.

Hey Lefty,

I'm truly sorry to hear about your daughter. I hope it ends with the best case scenario. Our thoughts are with your daughter and you & your wife.

What I've learnt today is that not only is management awful at making trades they are ruining our prospects hopes & dreams, not to mention development, and that they don't care about any one's feelings.

Keep on keeping on.

I know right? Management is so mean, sending them on an all-expenses paid trip to France, not to mention paying them thousands of dollars, millions in some cases (when you take into account endorsements/bonuses etc) to play in the AHL... they sure are hard done by, not playing one preseason game.

EDIT: Also, yes Lefty, my own thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this time of crisis. I'm sure it's going to work out in the end.

Thanks Marwood - it was a bit of a freak accident. She was riding her horse through a narrow path in the woods when the horses head caught a green limb of a tree, he pushed it forward with his head and then dipped his head...the tree branch snapped back so fast she couldn't grab it and it struck her directly in the left eye. It actually split her eyeball, she lost her sight immediately.

As a parent it's pretty heart-wrenching to see someone you love so much in that kind of physical and emotional distress. Right now the experts are focused on saving her eye, as in keeping it in her head, another surgery in Vancouver early next week. Never say never, but her chances of ever seeing again out of that eye are pretty slim.

I didn't watch the game the other night but hopefully I'll be able to see this one as I'm taking a break from the hospital.

Oh ya, we have a new kid on here, he goes by 'onesmalleap' but Vantel has re-named him 'Skippy'. He might be nearly 10 and I think he might be grounded after getting caught being on the interweb after his bedtime.
Fosco has come back as Yannick72.

Horses and injuries. I have some stories... I'll save that for another day. Anything can happen... I wear work/safety glasses out in the bush. Still cracked one once though...

seriously though, as far as high-end UFA dmen go, only big buff remains unsigned at this point.

I know many don't like him, but he is JB type of dude IMO.
What would you offer Winnipeg for the privilege??

A big cake if they resign him for their remaining cap and we can steal Burmistrov from them.

We are years away from being in the market for a high end vet for the D line. This is a conversation for 3 or 4 years ago.

Signing one short term and flipping him for picks maybe but what are the chances of that... trades will cost too much.

There are 10 year olds in leafland who remember their Stanley cups from cave paintings.
