Hi Carol. Thanks again. Good stuff. You're blogs are the only thing keeping me in the loop as of late. I also liked your link to the kids chances of making the dance. |

As per Hutton staying with the club to start the season, I think he will be a victim of the numbers and sent to Utica with possibly JV and McCann getting some if not all of their 9 games.
Even if Gaunce isn't with the Canucks to start the season, I think he will play more than a handful of NHL games.
I was thinking it wouldn't be so bad to expose Sbisa to waivers, and keep Hutton up, not likely anyone would pick him up, but it might screwup his confidence.
It is great that McCann is showing some play making ability.
Even though this is just exhibition, it was nice to see some Canuck goals. |

Marner returned to London while Glencross and Setoguchi are cut loose by the Leafs. Veteran, Brad Boyes remains in the mix.

Did John Garrett just give 2 stars to the Canucks in a losing cause against an AHL team? No one could ever accuse him of being a homer.
Just like Foster Hewitt in the old days after a 7 -0 loss for the Leafs.
First star Davie Keon
Second star Johnny Bouwer
Third star Eddie Shack - VANTEL
I didn't read the last 10 or so pages of the last blog, but clicked a page and saw this.
I think at the end of the Habs-Leafs game I heard the announcer say the Leafs lost the game and won the OT... I guess you have to take any positive you can out of a sh!ty situation or you end up over drinking and raging. |

Thanks for the article Carol, although wouldn't the options be to keep either 14 forwards and 7 D or 13 and 8?
I think McCann without a doubt looks more NHL ready in terms of hockey sense than Virtanen, which is fine but neither are ready for the NHL and I don't see a lot of point in keeping either for 9 games.
Gaunce has earned a spot IMO, regardless of the rest of camp and Hutton is making a good case for himself and I think deserves a trial if he keeps it up.
