I thought the one where 5 people have to die on a job site in one day before the ministry of labour gets involved, was bad. - Bieksa#3
Not as bad as the time 20 whores had to go missing on the job site before the RCMP got involved.

Wow, he had one good hit in the 1st and then played like a ECHLer for the rest of the game. - bloatedmosquito
Yeah, but on the Sbisa scale that's an excellent game. |

true....although they might somehow accidentally kill you without being aware in the process of the slow park too. Good chance of that too from what I've seen.
I was at T&T parking lot once and 2 of them slowly backed right into each other, somehow managing to pretty much total both cars even though it was like 2km / hr for each. |

Wonder how the ICBC sorted that 1 out. Or even understood what happened from both descriptions being "I go back...back...ohhhh no, whot happon?" |

Yeah, he seems like a guy who hasn't adjusted well to pro coaching and added weight. There's always that hope that he'll look like the same guy as the one who earned a late season call up and played well in the playoffs but I'm not holding my breath. He should maybe drop a few pounds to regain mobility and simplify his game, just play on instinct. Tanev's advice to Hutton was to keep it simple and just play the game that got you here and it's done wonders for him this pre-season. - Nucker101
I'd say NHL not pro... He's been a good pro AHL player. Travis Green thinks he's very coachable. |

I think the rookies are definitely pushing for jobs for opening night. There are only 4 of them that seem to be in this group: Hutton, McCann, Virtanen, and Gaunce. I would rather see them, than some of the other Canucks who have shown to be terrible in the pre-season. Sbisa, is pretty much guaranteed to be on the opening roster. However, Sbisa has been a turnover machine. Take the game against Arizona as an example. He had poor outlet passes, turned over the puck at least 5 times, and was absent on the scoresheet. Corrado is a defenceman who is being passed on the he depth chart by players like Weber and Bartowski. You can add Hutton to that list. Hutton has been outstanding in the pre-season. Now where did Sven Baertschi go? He was all but a lock for the he hehe 2nd line, but he too has been passed by McCann as the offensive threat. While I believe Gaunce deserves to.be on the roster, he will likely start in Utica. If the Canucks are able to trade away some 'older' players, Gaunce could be brought back up. Virtanen seemed to have the best chance at making the team, but McCann may have taken that spot. McCann is better than Vey, but he may have to be played on the wing in order to make the roster.
I think the Canucks made a horrible decision trading for, and signing, Sutter. The Canucks have enough depth to succeed without him. The Canucks will need to trim some of its current roster players if they ever want their propects to get a chance. It remains to be seen how Prust performs, but it's not likely both him and Dorsett are needed. I also believe that if and when the Canucks are able to trade Higgins, they will. I don't see the Sedins, Vrbata, Sutter, Hansen, Hamhuis, Edler, Horvat, or Tanev being traded; but the rest are fair game. |

Maybe, maybe not. You're probably right, there's probably at least one team where Corrado would be an upgrade to the top 8, but if he hasn't played well enough to earn a spot here do you send Hutton down so you don't lose Corrado? What does that say about an organization if you punish a player for playing too well because it is convenient for you to send him to the minors? - 1970vintage
That happens all the time. I'm not saying it's right, but it does happen. Corrado isn't a huge loss via waivers, but it would be better to trade him and get something in return (like a pick). |

It seems like the kids are playing better than the people with guaranteed spots... I'm sure few fans are surprised by that. It's normal. Beartchi unfortunitely knows he has a spot... it displeases me to see him not trying to try anyways... he looked better last season.
I don't mind Sutter as a 3rd liner... didnt lose too much in the trade but I'm not happy about a 5 year deal at all though... don't like them talking about him owning the 2nd line spot... Horvat has his eye there... he knows he'll belong there soon. |
