Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review/Game Day: McCann & Hutton Pushing for Jobs Jared McCann and Ben Hutton continued to show that they want to stick with the Vancouver Canucks during Monday's 1-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Guys, Vey's feelings are going to be hurt if he loses his job to a rookie.

Horvats always a stud and sutter shows signs that he could be a good playmaker.

I can't remember Vey playing much wing last season, maybe they should try him on the wing.

Still trying to figure out the lineup if they keep both JV and McCann for their 9 games.

Sedins Burrows
Baertshchi Horvat Vrbata
Vey Sutter Hansen
Prust McCann Dorsett
JV

IR: Higgins

require waivers:
Cracknell

Utica or press box: Gaunce, Kenins, Grenier

Is Corrado waiver eligible?

Is Biega or Cracknell going to have to clear waivers to go to Utica?

Yup, all would have to clear waivers to be sent down, but as Carol noted in a previous blog (or maybe it was CA?) there are likely going to be better options for teams. Remember, Markstrom cleared last year...

Corrado would get snatched up in a heartbeat on waivers. If there's no room for him you trade him.

I was trying to figure out if we would have to expose any vets to waivers if someone unexpectedly makes the club out of camp. I know they say they will make room, but it doesn't seem as pressing to make room for a player that can go freely back and forth between Utica and Vancouver.

It would be a bit of a shakeup if they decided to keep Hutton up at the start of the season. It might impact the chances of JV and McCann staying with the club.

You sure? I really think he's still overrated by some of our fans. The guy hasn't been a standout in the AHL after multiple seasons, has been outplayed during pre-season by younger guys.

I can maybe see a bottom feeder picking him up to use him as a 6/7 dman but that's about it. If I had to bet money on it, I'd say he clears.

Max Friberg is a flat out better prospect at this point(I'll admit that he plays at a less valuable position) and he cleared waivers.

Maybe, maybe not. You're probably right, there's probably at least one team where Corrado would be an upgrade to the top 8, but if he hasn't played well enough to earn a spot here do you send Hutton down so you don't lose Corrado? What does that say about an organization if you punish a player for playing too well because it is convenient for you to send him to the minors?
