Maybe, maybe not. You're probably right, there's probably at least one team where Corrado would be an upgrade to the top 8, but if he hasn't played well enough to earn a spot here do you send Hutton down so you don't lose Corrado? What does that say about an organization if you punish a player for playing too well because it is convenient for you to send him to the minors? - 1970vintage

Throw Weber on waivers. For me, it's easy to elect for Hutton over Weber. He's done nothing to impress me his entire time here (aside from banging Carey Price's sister )
Management has said that they would make room for youngsters by moving a veteran if they had too. It's "proof is in the pudding" time for me with Benning. If he can do the same thing with Higgins, to make room for McCann and they are obviously committed to Vey, I'll go into this season with some intriguie. |

I think when management said that they probably thought kovingnone veteran. Right now they are talking about Gaunce,Mcann, Hutton and JV to make the team so if they stand with what they said they habe to move 4 veteran to make room dor those youngsters |

Weber is going nowhere as of right now as they want to see if he can continue his PP success from late last year...as of right now Bartkowski/Hutton would be better than Weber/Corrado but time will tell.
McCann is making a bigger case than JV...but it might change in the last few games. It would be nice to see McCann and JV get the nine games while Vey sits in the press box and Higgins recovers for trade value...
Just not sure how they would fit Gaunce McCann and JV all into the lineup |

Would Edmonton take a flyer on Corrado if given a chance??
As per the organisation question, I wouldn't be too upset if they send Hutton down and recall him as soon as the inevitable injuries pile up on the back end.
Easy conversation to have with him and say, you've impressed us, continue doing well in Utica and we'll have you back asap. |

If they waive him and he doesn't clear it would be Aaron Volpatti all over again around here. Esplen would probably write a blog about firing the GM because he gave up on the Team Canada future captain. |

Corrado would get snatched up in a heartbeat on waivers. If there's no room for him you trade him. - KB3Point0

Except Schroeder, I'm pretty sure he cried at his exit interview.
I'm not sure which I hate more, the stupid A&W adds that keep creeping down the screen, or the pop-up that comes up every time the page refreshes letting me know I'm steeling from Ek by using AdBlock. |

i'll preface my post by saying that hutton has absolutely played himself ahead of corrado on the depth chart.
however, i'm on the side of being cautious about the waiver situation. if they are reasonably (feel good about it but acknowledge there are risks) sure that he can clear, that would be the obvious move. but if it's unlikely that corrado can clear, i keep him instead of hutton.
simply put, you need to keep the prospects that you develop. the team can't have put in 4 years of development time into a player only to let him go for nothing when he is on the precipice of becoming a player.
send hutton down and work out a deal to free up a roster spot. even if that means that you run 8 dmen. |

Personally, I would keep both, I don't think Hutton and Corrado are actually competing for the same job. I'd send Sbisa down to make room |
