Swedish elite league? Do you mean the same league that Bill Sweat and Anton Rodin dominate? Who Fuc*king cares
- CanuckDon

I may be wrong but I think the Sedins played in the swedish elite league at 18 and they didn't put up PPG numbers.

Nylander put up just under PPG numbers when he was 18.

All I am saying is I wish he was still a part of our prospect pool.

Nucker, if it was up to you we would have a team full of midgets
- CanuckDon

Nope, but you can bet your house that we wouldn't have Sbisa/Sutter/Miller/Vey right now.

You can argue Sutters extension but you can't argue Sutter vs bonnino

You can't exactly separate Sutter's extension with the trade that brought him here, seeing as how the extension was finalized before he played a single game for Vancouver.

I understand what your saying but I would be shocked if Forsling plays a 100 NHL games. If I'm wrong, then f*ck Benning

We gained a heftier contract for a longer term without any real gain on the ice.

To be clear, you don't think Sutter is better than Bonnino?

From what I've seen so far and also read about him, no I don't. I'd say they're in the same tier.

Edler - Tanev
Hamhuis - Weber
Sbisa - Bartkowski

Hutton
- kaptaan

Sorry pal . If Hutton is sitting in the press box send him to the Comets for experience.

That would be one of the dumbest moves in Canuck development history to sit him in the pressbox

- VANTEL

Hutton will get his starts when one of the d men gets injured... i'd rather have him stay up with the club as a reward for solid play and then get his games in when one of the guys goes down to injury or is playing poorly, rather than have him be the first call up.... the guy deserves to be with the club if he's earned it in camp and preseason....

if one of the dmen has a few shiite games in a row, you put Hutton in. it'll keep the pressure on every guy to perform. if they don't perform for a 2-3 games in a row, put them in the box and dress the guy who is waiting his turn to get in.

true....although they might somehow accidentally kill you without being aware in the process of the slow park too. Good chance of that too from what I've seen.

I was at T&T parking lot once and 2 of them slowly backed right into each other, somehow managing to pretty much total both cars even though it was like 2km / hr for each.

You should have video taped it on your phone, and put it on youtube...

This is not a statement against Sutter and I know Nucker will make a comment about price of a 4 th line and question talent . This is a good problem as Whisky Tango said this morning . Our kids have surprised us.

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Gaunce Horvat Vrbata
Sven McCann Hansen
JV Sutter Dorsett

Prust

I know it is very unlikely but it would give all lines the best options and matchups

So we had twenty players iced last night , and not playing 2xSedins Vrbata Sbisa Sutter Burrows Weber Hamhuis . That totals 28 and 29 if you include Higgins.

Realistically we need to send down 5 players and 1 more when Higgy comes off injured reserve .

Grenier Biega come off leaving 3 more to be sent down.

I could see Weber Kenins and Vey as the three odd men out. More to come later this week

Maybe wait until he has played a month in a Canuck uniform with regular linemates . I seen some nice setups last game, and he hasn't made any huge mistakes .

Who'd have known a few weeks back that so many prospects would be pushing for a spot ....and deserving of a spot.
- SMBDragon

It is preseason, right??? Where prospects dominate cause they try, against veterans who don't.

Thing is, when you're on the bubble and a prospect is outplaying you, that's when you're in trouble (see Vey, Corrado). It's one thing to not try 100 percent if you're the Sedins, Burrows, Horvat, Vrbata who're guaranteed a spot regardless. It's a whole other ball of wax when you're not guaranteed a spot and are getting outplayed by a prospect who's still junior eligible and it's the last week of preseason as well.

Again, I think it's great that McCann, Hutton, Gaunce and JV are all making the Higgins, Vey, Corrado and Baertschi's of the world sweat. They are replaceable, and I take JB and TL at their words when they say if a prospect plays himself onto the team, they'll do what it takes to open a spot.

Any of the aging veterans not trying needs to give their head a shake. We had 5 first round picks at camp trying to steal their jobs. 30 years ago they were safe. These days not so much . The NHL game now is set up for players 24-30 not 30-36

You're misinterpreting. I'm referring to the opposition's veterans not trying very hard. That's why we always see some prospects stand out at training camp, especially at the start.

Them having a great week or two is certainly reason for optimism, but our fan base has a history of anointing players as the next coming after they've had a few solid outings in meaningless games.

Ya...instead we would have another 5 NTC's on top of the 10 we already had and the aging core would get every opportunity they wanted in the Country Club...I hear Gillis felt they had one more cup run left in them...
