Is Gillis under contract with us still? We need someone to sign him so we get compensation.
- boonerbuck

UVic owes us a second round pick. If you'd asked me a week ago I would have said that Gillis would be back in the NHL before Torts. Wrong again.

I think it was clear to all 30 teams that Gillis had only a small portion of the league willing to do business with him... he could probably work out as anything but the GM now... contracts are his strong point so he could probably be a safe pick for an assistant GM.

When he was an agent Gillis was pretty damn good at his job, which isn't exactly an ideal background for a gm. His arrogance didn't help either. But despite how badly he fcked up here, he's still a pretty smart guy, scroatee notwithstanding. I wouldn't say the same about Torts.

As per Torts, more than one player has said he is very smart (good hockey sense), and this is evident in the way he breaks down game tape and such.

Listening to Torts at the CBJ new conference, he admitted he isn't the best listener and sometimes has blinders on when he focuses in on something.... in other words, he has em on almost all the time.

I don't know. Not in the room and all that, but I don't put a ton of stock into what players say publicly. Burrows even said some nice things about him the other day. I think if he was capable of breaking down tape and had hockey sense then he would have been able to adjust while he was here. It seemed to me like he had one way he wanted the team to play and that was that.

His entire time here was like that episode of Seinfeld where George wanted to get fired by the Yankees.

Heard the tape stuff and hockey knowledge from a few players. Even Dubinsky or someone from a different org may have said the same.

Doesn't mean he isn't as much of a jerk as he appears to be, just might be the nicest thing they can think to say....

Isn't Gillis as is Burke a Havard educated lawyer?

Mike Johnson is gonna get fired.
I mean, ducks are struggling but showing some flashes. The pens are awful. That might be the worst built team I've seen.

I like this board better.....I'm not a cool kid so everybody ignores me.

They're quite the bunch. Gardinerexpress systemstool the president RogerRopesucker its almost like they are in a round room trying to find a corner to sit in
Roeper is as special as the come. He clearly took a few blows to the head at some point.

They are dreadful. And everywhere. I don't like kaep but trying to turn him into a pure pocket passer is beyond headscratching.

Needs to use his legs to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.
