I think if they were asked they would do what's best for the team. Finding a partner is a different story.
Right now the remainder of this year it would be close to 10 -11 mil right now in space required. A team like Nashville who needs scoring has 7 mil left in space. I am sure with the players coming back it would be close to 3 mil - VANTEL
I think I would rather have the Sedins than James Neal & Mike Ribeiro, because lets face it, that is who we would have to take from them to make it happen. |

for both Sedins (with Canucks retaining salary) to Nsh ,i would be happy with
either Colin Wilson/Craig Smith as a young C
and either Mattias Ekholm/Ryan Ellis on D
and throw in some draft picks. i'd say a 1st and a conditional 2nd.
Too much??
I just don't see why we would need to take a bad salary back necessarily. If necessary, throw in Gaustad.

I wasn't thinking about retaining salary for 2 more years after this 1. |

I think that would make any theoretical deal easier to digest. Canucks are retooling and could afford the cap hit (if enough young/quality picks/prospects thrown in) and Nsh seems to have a lowish internal budget. |

PS According to General Fanager, Nsh has $10,049,444 cap space |

10-15% of our cap would be paying other players to play in Nash and Florida, not if it was my money. |

I would rather Fiala Ekholm and 2 firsts . I don't think the twins will get traded this year but the end of next is a very possible thought. They would have a full year left only and could always return after the one year absence |

I dont think so, I think the chances are more likely after they get 1,000 career points in a Canuck uniform (got to add some credibility to the franchise - new banner in Rogers Arena??), and even after that I think they solidify themselves even further as lifers. It would have to be the Sedin's deciding they want this, I dont think their pal Trevor would ask them to go even if only for a season |

What if's.
Doubt they would move as you say, it is interesting to banter about their trade value though. |

True enough, Nashville has been the prime partner for a while too. Always have the need for scoring and cap space to accommodate, plus defensive prospects that are desperately needed in Van. |

really? I've noticed him consistently losing the puck and losing puck battles, as he seems weak on the puck in general to me. Maybe I have been missing some good d play. - neem55
He is playing defensively solid. You are mistaken. The coach has praised him for it many times as well... as recent as the weekend.

I don't need this team in the playoffs this year. I've already got my reward, the kids.
Hutton - what a great surprise, I just want him to get more secure in his position on this squad. I'm really looking forward to his 1st goal and I love that smile that's always on his face.
Virtanen - his 1st goal is a great memory, the smile on his face was also great and how his team mates reacted to his 1st.
McCann - his defensive game is improving, this kid has great skill but I was worried that he might not learn as quick at this level. JM has changed my mind. I just wish he could put on muscle at the rate Horvat has.
Gaunce and Shink getting a game is great, rewarding them for their good play on the farm is great. Stick and carrot, I just hope Vey, Jensen and Kenins are paying attention. - A_SteamingLombardi

One can hope...
My comment was more directed at the idea that the Nashville GM was cunning for drafting so many D as they are valuable trade assets. Doesn't really hold true imo if you don't actually trade any. |

They did trade Hamhuis's negotiating rights and didn't push hard to resign him because they had Weber and Suter. Their problem is keeping their dmen happy there, Suter, Hamhuis and even Weber all signed else where. Was it Trotz that made them want out? |
