Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks Game Review: Cory Schneider Triumphs, Pedan Recalled A strong goaltending performance by ex-Canuck Cory Schneider gave the New Jersey Devils a 3-2 win on Sunday night at Rogers Arena.

Idk about JB but i'm itching for trades asap lol

I've no problem at all jeopordizing a playoff run.
Idc that the Aquilinis don't have enough liquid assets.
While looking for a buyer get on with changing the roster.

In the past 10 games, Canucks goalies have had a SV% above .900 TWICE...once it was at .900 exactly. The PK has been a disaster for the same period of time.

Ironically, the teams achillies heel has not been defense, which has been playing pretty decently. Weber and Hutton have poor defensive numbers, but whatever. Edler is back to 40 pt season days and has hit his stride on the PP. Bartowski was a great signing, IMHO.

The other shocker is how much the Sedins are carrying this team. If there was any secondary scoring or good goaltending, this team would be doing a lot better.

Grenier played a great game vs. Winnipeg...not sure why they sent him down.

More grit is needed. Having Prust back helps a lot, but we need more of it on D.

As i see it the kids r doin fine as they learn to be pros. PATIENCE
Still want WD to find a mix so a kid line can be kept together.
My line ideas:
Dank Hank. Yanank
Sven JM JV
Grenier Horvat Burrows
Prust Crack Dorsett

Grenier n Sven can flip flop if needed
When Sutter returns as 2C Sven/Grenier out n JM to LW.

Future PP has BHutt n JM on the points.

Trade Vrbata n Hamhuis asap for top 4 D or high picks/prospects.

Plenty of patience here Grasshoppah lol
Been a Canuck fan from mid '60's from the WHL days.
Want to know anything just ask 😂😂
Asset management n cap space is important now.
Possible playoff team not going deep is worth tinkering with now.
The next 2-3yrs will see a drastically different roster.

If this was still 2011, they would have been on it, I think.

I'm sure the fans would have been into back then...

Has he even played or has the league just let the Leafs piss all over the rulebook regarding taking players on waivers and not using them...

The Leafs are like tax evaders, if you can do it within the rules, it isn't against the law. It might be legal, doesn't mean it is right. Just seems funny that he was so happy to be picked up by the Leafs, if you asked him what he thought today, he'd likely say he just wants to play.

Is he getting better sitting in the press box? would his development be better served in the ahl? when he has to negotiate his next contract, will not playing hurt his value?

He cannot go the AHL unless clears waivers n that won't happen.
So he rots away for nothing while his career goes down the toilet.
Only a sad sack organization does that crap.
Richest Pro Sport losers on the planet for decades.
Simply baffles the mind when in a league of their own.

Sven hasn't done anything to earn top-6 minutes IMO. Frankly neither has Virtanen, but I do think has been much better all around than Sven. Patience doesn't mean putting kids together and giving them 16 minutes a night, it means letting them earn minutes by playing well and not rushing them. I agree JM has earned more minutes, looks to me he's getting pp time and more icetime. I think WD did a pretty good job with Bo and knows what he is doing. Agree with the trade though!

Liquid assets?

This team is allowed to spend to the cap like always.

Yep.

What I have heard a few Leaf posters say is he will be in the lineup after they move some players out for picks. Don't think Toronto is even allowed to trade him.

What is funny about that is Toronto likely won't make the trades if they are in a playoff spot and it sounds like they want to make the playoffs if they are afraid to play Corrado....

I assume Corrado would rather be playing in the AHL than sitting in the Leaf press box, but I could be wrong.

Could be worse.
Could be stuck in ahl and get passed on the depth chart.
At least he is first on the queue on his hometown team.
Getting paid to workout and practice.
Plus sweet seats to watch the game.

Cash n the Aquilinis have theirs tied up n Canuck buck etc hurts n want playoff revenues. Who said a budget team? Not me.
Idc about their business issues too bad i say.
JB needs full reign to do whatever be sees fit is needed n not encumbered with playoffs n an early exit.

Sven hasnt lit it up exactly but he is doing what every coach rewards ice time for... playing defensively solid. What gets young players demoted is sloppy play... I have not seen a coach that didnt put sound D ahead of scoring. History doesnt lie.

Ignoring the playoffs is easier said than done. I am pretty sure JB sold FA on his ability to balance building a team- drafting and development, while making the playoffs or at least contending for the playoffs.

I agree with many of the moves you outline, but if the management group sticks to the script, these moves will take a while. BUT, I'm surprised with how many prospects that have seen their first games in the NHL. Maybe the publicly stated strategy and execution aren't all the same.

I hearya but moving out either or both of Vrbata/Hamhuis i want cap space as part of it. Cap flexibility is very good to have when needed eg a key trade or RFA signing.
