A trade the magnitude of Tanev for Hamonic , or that type , is welcome at anytime. Higgens for Eller on lower valued players I don't see happening because we already have enough third line centres. Trading Vrbata or Hamhuis I hope will be happening at TDL only . I hope and I hope it is for draft picks only. It would be nice to have cap space to go shopping , instead of plugs coming back like Tinordi or that type of player.

JB seems to be doing a stealth tank, going unnoticed by the fan base. Sending out a guy with three goals to take the penalty shot brilliant.

Stay the course this year. Things will be better next year.

You only want them traded at tdl? I'd say trade them any time if you really want them gone. My fear is if the team is somehow close to being in a playoff position around tdl, JB will be reluctant to move them.

I really don't think they want to tank (although if you can pick up the right pieces while shopping, stars have to align), they keep on talking about the right environment. I don't want to go through what Edmonton has over the last 10 years, McDavid and another lottery pick or not next year.

yep, stay the course.

Seeking retaliation last night is horse crap. You do it that night . If not that shift the following shift when that player returns. This teams core are cowards when it comes to fighting and sticking up for teammates.

That is why you need some tough forwards like Brouwer Ward Simmonds LUcic .

COrrado was not even number 8 on the team depth. If it was not the Asshats from TO it would be a non issue. As I said get them back in the summer with their RFAs and drive up the prices with Offer sheets one right after the other , and do it for a couple of years. Nothing says screw you more than taking away prospects or cap space.

They did a poll today on team 1040 this morning and the question was Should they trade the Sedins. Last I heard it was 57% saying yes. Corey Hirsch also brought it up last night.

No question our best players. Their value is sky high right now. We would get a top pick because we would suck the rest of this year. We would get at least two # 1 picks and at least two very good prospects. Plus we would have 14 mil to go shopping. Or we can have two more years of their talent. To me it is a no brainer, but in here especially it is a taboo subject.

I hated the passe attitude in the last three minutes . I seen in the last blog some of you talking about it. I want more urgency . Too many passes, not enough shooting. We had 6 men , 2 crowd the net , pass pass shoot rebound. Repeat until goal is scored. This eternal passing drives me nuts.

I know some here say the rookies are learning from the leaders. I sure hope the hell they are not.

That's it. I do like the direction

Are you talking about retaliation for Farnham fighting Virtanen?

Virtanen stuck up for himself just fine. Who cares is Farnham tried to pump up the crowd. If anything Prust was making something out of nothing.

The whole standing up for teammates thing is overblown, we need players who stand up for themselves. Dorsett and Prust don't scare anyone. You mentioned players like Brouwer, Lucic, Simmonds and Ward, those players are all good because they play physical in the top 6, not because they defend teammates or go after other players because they try to pump up their crowd.

They did trade Hamhuis's negotiating rights and didn't push hard to resign him because they had Weber and Suter. Their problem is keeping their dmen happy there, Suter, Hamhuis and even Weber all signed else where. Was it Trotz that made them want out?

Weber signing an offer-sheet isn't the same as wanting out, he wanted to get paid and whether it was Philly or Nashville I doubt he cared.

Trotz is one of most well regarded coaches in the league and I really doubt players want to get away from him. The reality of drafting well in a cap league is that you can't keep all your players once they hit their prime.

Yep. lost the game and that line played the least. How does Prust not register a hit? Anyway, Cracknell has been a pleasant surprise. Falls down a bit but is willing to do whatever it takes, whatever role he is given. plays hard. We don't have anyone the least bit scary in our lineup. Pedan might help, but would rather him not fight much.

All that fighting and stuff after a clean heavy hit should be gone from the game. if it is a cheap or dirty hit, for sure have a little push back, but don't give up the pp if you can help it or if you put your team on the pk, make it worth it.
