Oh you are serious? Wow, okay.

He tore his ACL...he was most likely exercising and conditioning a month or two after surgery. He used the time off the ice to condition his body for the NHL and gained 20 pounds of muscle...not fat from sitting around and watching flyers games

- YuenglingJagr

20 pounds of muscle, really? he did that in a year recoverinvg from an acl...
you guys love lapping up that sauce don't ya?

20 pounds with a blown out knee is pizza weight, not muscle.

I agree on Manning. I would like to see Ghost with Schultz. I think Ghost could open up his offensive game a bit at 5 on 5 if he did not need to compensate for Manning.
- mickel25

Schultz is going to play against top lines, and the Flyers need to keep Gostisbehere away from top lines as much as possible.

He was skating and working out within two months of the injury and came to camp at 186 after being 170 the previous season.

You really have no idea what you're talking about.

"But in the big picture, when you look back 10 years from now, you might say Gostisbehere's injury was a real positive in the sense he became a player who really paid attention to the off-ice part of it and became a bigger, stronger player," Murray said Tuesday, one day after he and general manager Ron Hextall had individual exit interviews with the Phantoms, the Flyers' AHL farm team. "I think he's put on almost 20 pounds of good, solid weight and that's going to help him be ready at training camp."

so ghost miraculously misses most of the season last year with serious injury only to comeback leaps and bounds better than exactly a year ago when you guys were saying he wasn't ready and needed another year in the minors, working on his game?
- JoeRussomanno

Gostisbehere is one player. I'll throw your logic back on you. Gostisbehere can handle it, so that means they all can?

for him to be doing that kind of weight training, it would not be with a blown out acl... sorry these guys may be "all knowing" when it comes to "developing" prospects, but i've been weight training longer than some on this board have probably been alive... if you're going to make muscluar gains, and 20 pounds is next to impossible unless he is some freak of nature, without illegal performance enhancing drugs/hormones, you will absolutely need to work your lower body and do so heavily. I seriously doubt a kid who is by trade a pro athlete, put his body through so much of a stimulus "recovering" from a major injury, exercising at about 60% of what his body was used to, put on 20 (frank)ing pounds of muscle.. gtfo here with that

Might be the last season it's possible for Mr Schenn to get a photo like this taken.

He's been really really good for an 18 year old. It's kind of says everything about where the Canes are at that Hanifin, Pesce and Slavvin were our best defensemen and none of them have even 20 games of NHL experience.

Fire Ron Hainsey Into The Sun.

- BINGO!

How in the hell did he miss an entire gaping open net?

Glad they got the win.

Still hate the Read - Couturier - Simmonds line.

Would like to see Leirer get more ice time. When out there his speed is evident. Maybe replace Read with him.

Gostisbehere is fun to watch.

I am curious. Who do you think first player moved is?

sorry pal, i never blew out an acl but i have had to come back from cervical fusion, torn knee cartilage, torn labrum, torn rotator cuff, various broken bones and sprains, all while i was in pretty good shape. I don't care about your cute little articles, you don't miss almost a whole season when before you went out "needed time in the minors to begin with" and suddenly are a top flight chiseled oiled machine... the fact he needed a few games under his belt, maybe he hit a late growth spurt, but at his age i doubt it. otherwise i think some of you can never face reality and own up to when you're wrong.

You're the one who is wrong about Ghost needing illegal drugs to put on close to 20 pounds of muscle. Just admit it and shut the (frank) up instead of continuing to embarrass yourself.

I don't think he could have put the puck between the far post and Neuvirth's skate again if he tried 10 times from there. It's a small miracle he just didn't bank it in off of Neuvirth, let alone missing a yawning net.

really? that's funny cause you and others were bemoaning the need for him to stay in the minors just two freaking months ago... now "oh he bulked up while he was recouperating from an acl" clueless, yea try looking in the mirror

I guess Button, and McGuire are idiots then. They both said Provorov could play now, as well as Morin, and Ghost.
Again, it's not like any of these kids have to beat out a top level defensman.

Leier. You gotta start spelling his name right if you are going to comment about him every day. I wouldnt mind

Read Giroux Voracek
Leier Coots Schenn
Raffl Laughton Simmonds
VdV Bellemare XXX

I would still put money on Luke Schenn being the first to go, even though I disagree with the move (unless we get 2nd or better)

Again, you have no idea what you're talking about. You act like Ghost was in traction for months, when he was actually already skating within six weeks of the injury, and was able to spend every day of 2015 working out.

I'd send Leirer back down as soon as possible. Unless a trade is made, I would not replace Read with Leirer.

no it doesn't mean they all can, but when they're beating out vets in camp, the team is barely a playoff team, it does little harm to bring them up and let them learn on the job. sorry but this whole ghost situation shows some major flaws in logic with some ppl here... an acl injury rehab turned him into an nhler but playing nhl games would not... yea makes total sense

when did he start playing again? i had my shoulder out of a sling in 6 weeks doing exercises, doesn't mean i was back to benching 400 pounds.
