I'd send Leirer back down as soon as possible. Unless a trade is made, I would not replace Read with Leirer. - MJL
I like Leier and I'd send him back too.
I'd also listen to offers for Read, though, depending on where the Flyers are in the standings. |

Glad they got the win.
Still hate the Read - Couturier - Simmonds line.
Would like to see Leirer get more ice time. When out there his speed is evident. Maybe replace Read with him.
Gostisbehere is fun to watch.
I am curious. Who do you think first player moved is? - J35Bacher
I'm guessing Luke Schenn.

We end off last season with some real solid play among Sean Couturier, Matt Read and Brayden Schenn. Wayne Simmonds is on this line now and slumping. Within the Coaches studies of the team last season, one would think putting this trio back together might spark the offense. I'm not saying putting back together this single line is the answer to all our offensive issues but I am saying all avenues have not been searched.
Luke Schenn is this season's Nick Schultz. Now because Luke is young and playing decent hockey, I'd only keep him if he's willing to stay at a Schultz's price, otherwise get what you can get. If I'm Hextall, I'm trying to move away from Streit and Schultz because Ghost and Schenn have been that good.
No disrespect to Bellemare, Raffl or Read but are we this bad because we've gone down the none drafted players route? This isn't to say they're all bad or the reasons for our issues but a lot can be said for real development through the NHL ranks from 18 and up. Not because we found a gem at 24. I think we should be paying a little extra for depth players because I feel guys like Dowd, Betts and Manderville are sorely missed.
Voracek wasn't in a very good spot in terms of lines last night. It might be ideal to try him with Couturier, I'm doubting Couturier is the answer for Jake. We've seen it. We've tried it. |

I guess Button, and McGuire are idiots then. They both said Provorov could play now, as well as Morin, and Ghost.
Again, it's not like any of these kids have to beat out a top level defensman. - puckhead17
Player development is not an exact science, for anyone. They can think what they want. Why do they want to do that to these kids? Seriously? They're not a good team with experienced NHL defenseman. Why do we want to bring these kids up and let them get clobbered? The Flyers are able to use Gostisbehere properly, play him on the PP, and put him in the best matchups as much as possible. You can't do that with a bunch of kids in the lineup. Each player is an individual, it's not a group thing. A player is ready when they're ready. What is the rush? |

I'd absolutely look to trade Read at the deadline. Right now, Leirer is just not getting enough icetime. |

Yeah, pretty hard to gain that much muscle weight when your legs are responsible for most of it. - puckhead17
you need your larger muscle groups, particularly thighs and glutes to be trained in order to stimulate your body into producing the hormones needed for that kind of gains. Again he may have grew a bit, but there is no way in hell you can tell me he was lifting weight like that that soon... cripss sakes i saw guys in highschool on the wrestling team who were in the height of their body's growth period struggle to put in that kind of weight... the guys who did, bumch got caught juicing when they went to college. |

I don't think he could have put the puck between the far post and Neuvirth's skate again if he tried 10 times from there. It's a small miracle he just didn't bank it in off of Neuvirth, let alone missing a yawning net. - johndewar
Well he did beat the goalie. Only problem is that the goalie wasn't in the net. |

Not all of them, no.
But Hanafin is ready over all the kids we have? Even the ones older than him?
It's more of an organizational thing, more so than if the kid can cut it.

I dont think trading Read at the deadline is as easy as most people think. I agree that Leier isnt getting much ice time and I have no problem with him being sent back down. I think they could use him in some other roles while up here though |

Every player is an individual. Just because Hanifan is ready, doesn't mean that Morin is.
Drew Doughty came right to the NHL. PK Subban and Duncan Keith played significant time in the AHL. |

Of course it matters. These are guys you're paying to entertain you. It's too much to ask to know how to spell their names right? If it was Ruotsolainen, then I could understand getting it wrong. |

Yup, due to the length of his contract, you won't get much for Read. May be a better idea to see what you can get for Raffl, he's in the last year of his deal.

Well you saw people in high school lift some weights...I am just waiting for you to cite wikipedia
Please tell us when your book comes out so we can buy it and learn all about the human body and how weight is gained. You are so delusional about how pro athletes recover from injuries |
