Sami Vitanen 5'10"
Tyson Barrie 5'10"

Jordan Subban is 5'9". As you can see players do not need to be over 6'0" on defense to be useful. Subban could be an effective defender, he is also extremely strong with a solid core.

2 guys is it? 2?
obviously most gms see it the same way I do. I just cant see subban defending against guys like thornton etc.

I've said it before...subban is better as a converted speedy winger that is defendively solid.

I see him as top 6 so I am quite ok with him. We are a better team when he is playing. Mark my words , he will get the Canucks first Cup winning goal in a few years

Was he ever in the NHL?
- A_SteamingLombardi

He played a couple games like Shinkaruk on the 4th. Didn't obviously leave a lasting impression.

He's tearing it up in Europe right now.

Shirokov was screwed my our management. He was gunna be our best scorer. I remember him scoring in back to back games then they sent him down.

I don't think it was coaches decision more Mike Gillis. I guess he didn't like his attitude.

Right now I would say he is top 3
- VANTEL

Can't really argue with that, he has earned a spot to play in the NHL along side JV and McCann.

my little groupings would be
JV
JM
BH

Demko
Boeser
Gaunce
Grenier
Cassels
Shinkaruk
Tryamkin
Pedan
Grenier

Subban
Zhukenov
Brisebois
Jensen
everyone else, after...

Of my middle groupings, all could/would play in the NHL this year except maybe Boeser and Demko, although they are good prospects.

Unsure of Kenins being on this list. making professional money like Vey and Sven. Both have to make a push to get back up, Vey especially, except I noticed some people griping, wishing Vey was in and Sven out.

He showed flashes but looked lost out there too. They didn't give him much rope. Reminds me of Jensen when he was called up 2 seasons ago. Looked okay, but didn't really stand out, didn't look out of place either.

Thought Shirokov was going to be the next Bulis.

Subban is definitely stronger/heavier than most players his height...

I think in terms of potential/ceiling, I think Boeser and Demko are the top two prospects in the system, followed by JM, JV and BH. Its oddly exciting to have some prospects that are true blue chip value that actually belong to Vancouver...

I think JB is going to pick the 6'6 Russian over the 5'8 Black guy

WTF Vantel? Whats his color got to do with it? Do you think people in our organization are racist and would select a white player over black?

Ryan Ellis, Krug, Shattenkirk, Dan Boyle, Enstrom are more notable ones as well.

Apparently "A total of 66 defensemen under 6-foot tall have appeared in the NHL since 2010 - See more at: http://collegehockeyinc.c...-nhl#sthash.TWPfLt0F.dpuf"

I'm not worried about Subban's size, it's his incredibly fragile feelings.
